Ordered Lariat 4x4 Screw on 1 Dec 03. Called salesman on 5 Dec to ask when I could get VIN. He tells me it would be 4-5 wks to get VIN. How can this be possible? What should I do next? Know I am very impatient but the Wedgewood blue is awesome.

 

I ordered a new 04 SKrew on Nov. 5, 03 and have yet to get a VIN so don't feel to bad. I thought that a big company like Ford would have a better database tracking system to tell customers how their factory order is progressing. With Xmas coming I'm being told the factory in Norfolk and Kansas City will shut down for two weeks, so it looks like 04 before I get my new 04.

 

Got this information from F150online. Try calling VOPC at 1-800-962-3746. Select 1 and follow voice prompts. You will need Dealer #; model year; body type; and order#. You should be able to get status. Good luck.

 

Thanks for the info, ... but I've been there and done that. The phone system is OK if you speak real slow and loud, but they need an on-line system. FMC ... let's move out of Bedrock and into Jetson City!

 

I ordered an '04 Lariat screw on Nov 31st. and I was told to expect the truck just before xmas. I saw my salesman [who also happens to be a friend of mine] yesterday. His boss checked the order and revised the arrival date to mid January supposedly because of a shortage of the 18" wheels that are standard on the Lariat. What are ya gonna do?
