Interior thermometer help

I have a 2001 Supercrew and for the past 6 months the temp in the truck has been off (the ambient temp reading in the overhead console). It is about 10-15 degrees above the actual outside temp (using several other sources). I figure the temp probe on the outside is going bad and I need a new one. Has anyone else had this problem, if so, was it hard to fix? Where is that probe located? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dan

I was told the probe is under the hood towards the front. I also believe that the temp can be calibrated. Look in the owners manual.

Pull off the plastic radiator cover and you will see it mounted on the frame, about halfway between centerline and the driver-side headlamp assembly.

Also, if you have the vehicle parked in the sun, it will take a few miles of driving for the sensor to stabilize. I've seen mine 10-15 degrees higher when the outside temps are high with the vehicle parked in direct sun.

Ciao!
