Dome Lights....How do you turn them off?

Looking for some help. I just purchased a used 2003 Supercrew Lariat (1st Ford) and was doing some work inside the cab with the truck doors open. I can't seem to find a way to turn off the interior dome lights and/or the outside bed light while the door(s) are open. Trying not to run the battery down. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Well,

The way to do this is the obvious way, pull the fuse...

Maybe not the answer you're looking for, but that's all I know...

I know this probably isn't the biggest help, but I think they shut off automatically after ten minutes if you leave a door open, for that very reason... at least I think that's how my '03 is...

Closer is correct, they will eventually shut off on their own. It's a little ditty that's built in to keep you from zapping your battery if you accidently leave your doors open and leave the vehicle.

Look at the wheel for dimming the instrument panel lights.

If they are "Full Bright" the dome light comes on also.

Back it off a bit (it will click) and the dome light will go off.

Oops, just read the question again, and this won't work with the doors open...sorry

It's kind of anoying to do, but I just pull the fuse out when I have to work on my 01 for a while. My lights turn off after 10 minutes too, but I usually keep shutting the door and reseting the computer back to the 10 minutes again.

Tonights homework is..."ooohhhhhhhhhh!"
