Brake job

I am going to be doing my first brake job on my 2001 F150 supercrew 4wd. I have done alot of brakes and don't anticipate any real problems. However I am wondering if ther are any tips or tricks anyone could recommend to make the job go more smoothly, this does have the rear disks (the parks brake shoes have been replaced in conjunction with a recent rear end rebuild.. thankfully under warranty but thats another story) . Also I am wondering what brake pad has worked best for others, Ford really values the orig equip pad to the tune of $119 a pair. Auto zone has the raybestos pad for $18 a pair, which appear to have worked well for others on this board. I am eager to hear your comments and recommendations.

Thanks

My advice is to replace, not turn, the front rotors. I turned mine, and they warped. Turned them again, and they warped again. If you search the site you'll see my experience is not unique.

Replaced all my rotors at 65,000.
Tried turning them on an earlier brake job, but
they warped just like Tmelesky's did.
