Question Front Bumper Hitch

Looking to install a front bumper hitch or receiver only as a mod for unique circumstances with our boat or trailer. Anyone created one or using one? Any ideas would be helpful
Or has anyone made a front 2" receiver to accomadate a winch that can be swapped to the rear as needed. I do a lot of hunting in Northern Saskatchewan and it comes in quite handy in our bushland. This would have to fit a 03 Screw

I will try to get the info on Monday. I have a friend that did that to a 2001 SC and I laughed at him but he said it did come in handy. If I remember he said the holes lined up by just buying an aftermarket hitch for the rear and installed it himself.

Try this ranchand front end replacement. It has the 2" receiver hitch mounted in it.

I looked into one once, I think this may be the part:

DRAW-TITE#65025 FRONT MOUNT

It did require a bit of trim to be cut off the bottom of the front bumber.

I have had a front receiver on my last 2 trucks, they come in very handy for many different things. My current 2001 Screw has one from HiddenHitch. It mounts to the same point as the fron tow hooks and no trimming is required.

When not in use I keep a hitch step in it to provide easy underhood access. I also looked around and got 2 hitch locks with matching keys for front and rear. I often use the front mount for carrying additional items when I am towing (bike rack for bikes, or platform with giant cooler, etc.).

I think I have a picture in my gallery, if not shoot me a message and I can send one.

Good luck!

I forgot to mention, if you have the front skid plate, it will not fit back on without fabrication. I left mine off and leave the hitch step in for additional protection.

I have one on the front of my 2001 Supercrew Class 3. Use it all the time for backing up my tent trailer. Had mine installed in 1/2 and hour. Just bolts into holes already in the frame. I believe hidden hitch makes it. I don't have a 4 x 4, so the hitch sits low to the rest of the truck, about 6" above the road.

xole, I like that your idea. If I get one I can mount four bikes on the front, and four more on the back. With two more in the bed I can carry 10 bikes to the trail.

Greencrew,

It really works out well. With 3 kids going camping pulling a 27' Travel Trailer it is real easy to carry the bikes on the front while pulling the trailer.

I have also played with the idea of a chair, rod holder and of course beer holder attachment to slide in for surfcasting.

Then there is the iron spear for impaling the car in front of me when I get a little mad max in me......the possibilites are endless.

I had one made for my 01 Screw. The shop did a nice job. The receiver comes out a hole in the dam just under the license plate. This allows me to get my boat in the garage by myself with ease.
