Question 4.6 or 5.4??? HELP

I cant decide what would be better between the 2
I am looking at a 01 SC with the 4.6 or i am debating if i should try to fine one with the 5.4 or mabey a new 04?

The only thing i am going to be towing with it is a 18'6" Alumimum Lund Fishing boat that weights about 3500-4000 lbs
Will the 4.6 have enough power to pull it with not much trouble or should i go 5.4
I will only be pulling it 1-2 times a month when there is no snow. Longest trip it would take ever with the boat would proably be 6-8 hours. Other wise its just pulling it out of the water or 5 min to 2 hour trips

Thanks Darren

The 5.4 will always be a better choice if you have the option. The 4.6 will get the job done but I have experienced probably less than a 1 mpg savings on gas with the 4.6 and when I towed in the mountains (which is not often) I wished I had the 5.4.

Well, you could get the 4.6L and just take the anchor out of that 18 foot aluminum boat that weighs 4,000 pounds.
