My upper ball joints has some play on em. This is on my 1998 F150 super cab and has around 110,000 miles on it.

I know that they are pressed in, my question: Can they be knocked out with a heavy hammer. I have replaced them on my chev trucks and knocked em out with a hammer and punch. It wasn't all that easy but I did it, but I never worked on a ford.

I went to O'Reilly auto part store to price the upper ball joints and asked if they had a tool type press to remove the upper ball joints and they showed me the one they had. The tool looks like it was made to remove the lower ball joint but not the upper because of it size.

Any info on this will be helpful, thanks in advance.....
