2002 SCrew at the Strip
2002 SCrew at the Strip
Took my 2002 5.4L 2wd SCrew to our local slow strip for the High School Dragrace.
Truck is completely stock, 36psi in the General tires.
I ran a 16.29 at 82.1 mph on the 1st run. My 60 foot time was 2.30. Not bad.
The track became pretty slippery after the first run, due to the fact that there were over 400 cars racing, with drivers that had no idea what to do.
The best I could muster after that was a 16.43 at 79mph (lifted, it's bracket racing!), but the 60' was only a 2.46. I just spun a little on take off.
I think it would go a 16.1 if I had tried harder. I was going for 'consistency' rather than all out speed.
I just left it in drive with my left foot on the brake, and stomped on it. No power braking or easing on of the throttle.
The truck is VERY consistent. My ETs were not all close, because I was lifting alot (waaaaay better RTs than the usual .8-1.5 seconds of everyone else). All of my 60' times were between 2.46 and 2.51, besides the first run!
Take into consideration that our track is much slower than most tracks. I am sure that it could go at least 84 mph at a decent track. On the bike I am used to going about .15 seconds quicker at St. Louis.
I'll post back after the AF1 intake and 1715 Micro Tuner are installed and run!
