Actually we had first considered the Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4x4, so my wife would be able to drive it. She's shorter then most. After a test drive of the F150 I was sold but for her its a HUGE truck. Pulling a horse trailer with a Dakota might be pushing it's limits. Hopefully its still on the lot come Friday

Smile New 03 Screw

Had my 03 Screw for only a month but I really like it. Been driving sports cars and sports sedans ( 300 M ) the last 8 years so I wasn't sure if I would like it over the long term but 1 test drive sold me. Nice styling, lots of room and a V-8.

I just bought an 03 Supercrew Lariat and my wife loves it. She is short and wasn't sure about a full size truck but has no problems with it. The 2 best features to get if your wife is going to drive it are:
A good set of Bars/Steps, and
Adjustable foot pedals. (These help out tremendously)

I got mine when they were giving 9K off retail...31K truck for 22K!!
I know opinions vary, but I like it better than the 04.
They are too unrefined as of yet. In a year or two they'll start painting the doorhandles and smoothing out all the other rough edges, but for now the 03's are the best value.
just my $.02

I bought mine August 5th. it now has a little over 4K on it. I love it! I have taken to Hungry Valley Off road Vehicle Park in Ca. (Thats another story). I bought it Albuquequer NM, and towed my wifes sabel home. I have always got 15-18 on the hi-way and I always drive 75 to 80 mph. 70 when I was towing. I love my truck so much I set on the porch, drink beer and look at it. The dealers are trying to move the stock. This is the best time of year to buy a vehicle. As long as you arent the type that has to have the newest modle. Besides. the 04 has the first year modle or change to the 5.4. I got mine for 29K, its the XLT FX4. After the Rebates, I financed 26 and some change.

I purchased our 2001 S'crew this summer. still has some factory warranty on it! I got tired of cleaning out the insde of our explorer every time I went off to the gardening place, Home Depot , the dump, if you get my drift. Great people mover the S'crew. Our Grandson just loves his back seat ride. We love the creature comforts of the Lairiat.

Heated Leather seats
CD changer
super sound system
Moon roof
Auto lights

Great truck overall. The 4-dr really helps when youv'e got young kids. Compared to my 99 GMC I traded in for a 2001, there is plenty of room in the back seat. Unfortunately I also traded in the 2001 for a 2003. Not real pleased with the steering problem I have and a few other problems I've experienced withthe truck. Also the interior is made of some real cheap fabric (likened to a the leisure suit polyester material back in the disco 70's). The interior on the 2001 was MUCH better!! The 2003 interior is hard to keep clean and stains very easy, especially if you have kids with grungy hands.

GMC is coming out with a shortened version of the Sierra (a 1/2 ton version) in Jan 2004 to compete with FORD. Go ahead and thrash me, but I may just want to get my hands on one of them late 2004.
