Access Cover

Do any of you guys have experience with the Access Roll-up tonneau? I need to put something over my bed, and I came across these while surfing around.

How dry does it keep the bed, and how durable is it?

Worth the $400+ dollars for it?

Thanks!
Justin

I have had an Access cover for the past 2.5 year in Hilo Hawaii which has heavy tropcal rains. There is a gap along the top of the front edge of the bed. I used a gasket that my dealer said came from the manufacturer and it sealed the bed well and it stays alsmost completely dry in the most heavy tropical downpour and also when I wash the truck. I had to use some additional sealer at the corners as well. The gasket goes along the top of the front panel of the bed (that is under the edge of the Access cover) from the edge of one rail the the edge of the rail on the other side.

By the way I like my cover (and have hated the rear corners since I have had it) and still would highly recommend it to anyone who needs flexibility in their usage of a bed cover.

I have one, like it very much, only 3 months experience with it and so far has kept my bed dry. I am waiting for winter though to see how the velcro stands up. To me it has been well worth the money.

I have TruXedo similar design to Access. I had this for about a year now. Keep the bed dry and easy to roll up. It is about the half price of the Access I think I paid about $220. with shipping. If I have extra $ to spend I think I'll go with Access. Access look like it fit better (lower profile)

I don't know where you got a new Truxedo for $220, but that is a great price.

I had a snap cover on my 99 and debated on what to get for my 03 Screw. After a lot of research, the Access Cover clearly came out on top, with the only major grip being the price. So, I got one one day after taking delivery of my Screw.

I love rolling up, quick access/seal design. Function was my primary concern over my old snap one and this one is much quicker and easier to use. I love how it looks. I don't like all the water getting in nor the extra 4" of bed space it takes up in the front at the rail height. The water seal can be fixed, but the design cannot. It isn't that big a deal, except that my 4-wheeler bumper hits it and scrapes it up while those few precious inches would allow me to close the tailgate. I ended up buying a larger trailer to hold all the appropriate gear.

I have an Access cover on my current 2001 F-150 XLT SuperCrew. Keeps things dry pretty well. Only trouble I have with it is disengaging the latch that "unlocks" the rear support bar to allow it to be rolled up. Sometimes it sticks are requires a good amount of effort to get it disengaged. I'm getting a Truxedo cover on my ordered 2004 FX4 SCrew.

I have an Access cover as well. Found the dealer on ebay, and they were within 30 miles from my house, so I went and bought from them direct. I think $340+ tax? I love it. Easy access, good looking, and slightly better mileage (though don't count on it). And you can adjust the tension to keep it tight.

Just got my new Access cover installed this morning. I have had the same cover on my previous 2 trucks (both S/C's) and it held up really well. I also got the tailgate weather stripping.

best box cover on the market.
