dripping under dash by parking break pedal

I noticed recently that there is a spot (about 3 inches diameter) of discoloration on my driver side floor mat. I seems like something is dripping from under the dash about the spot where the parking brake pedal is. I do recall reading something about this many months back in one of these threads but can't seem to find it now.

Anyone know what causes this or how to stop it?

Running the AC frequently? If not, you might have the leak that comes in around the gutter and drips down behind the 'oh sheet' handles... I've seen it a couple of times before on here.

I haven't touched or sniffed the stain spot but I wouldn't think that water condensation would just evaporate and not cause a stain. I've also read in other threads that condensation drip usually happens on the passenger side as opposed to my driver side.

Then again, I didn't notice the stain spot before summer got really hot and I started running the A/C more often and longer.

I'm kind of like you on this one... I can't recall seeing condensation drips from a driver's side perspective anywhere on any of the boards (although, I may be wrong). I suspect you have a small leak honestly... not sure.

I think the 'rain gutters' mount with a small 'post' that pushes into the metal at the top of the door frame and is susceptible to leaking inside to the truck and running down behind the 'oh poo poo' handles..... you might check around those areas and maybe even test it with a hose or similar...

Are you noticing the spots after precipitation events or are they just very random?

It could also be brake fluid from the master cylinder. Might want to check it and see if it oily.

F150 hdt - I had/ have this problem on the passenger side - Rockpick is on the right track. Water leaks in around the windshield and runs down the inside of the A pillar trim. Sometimes it will drip through the grab handle, but most of the time it just runs down to the flow (I say run, it is really dripping). Dealer verified it by putting a high pressure water hose to the windshield. They fixed it by resealing around the windshield, but I think I am having the problem again. Just hit 90K miles, so I have got to get it back in before the extended warranty expires!!
