1st Time SuperCrew Owner

Well I am a rookie SuperCrew owner as of today. I traded a 97 Chevy xcab for a 2001 Supercrew and love it. I hate to sound like such a newbie but what kind of mileage can I really expect with the 5.4? I love the interior room and the truck looks great. I have always thought the Supercrew was the best looking truck since they were first introduced.
I stumbled across this site and boy am I glad that I did, seems like some really knowledgeable and nice folks here. More than likely you will find me lurking around and listening, someone once told me "You can hear alot better when your mouth is closed" or in this case "when your fingers aren't typing"
Anyway thanks for the forum, it has been really helpful.

New S'crew!

Congrat's on the new S'crew! Yeah, I drove Chevies for years but they just don't make anything comprable to the S'crew. I have an '02 S'crew w/5.4L 2wd & 3.55 gears. I live 25 miles from town, so my driving is about 50/50 city/highway. I pretty consistanly avg. 16.5 to 17 mpg. Mine is Dark Shadow Grey w/Silver stripe. Good luck! You're gonna like it here!

Welcome to this board! You will enjoy it here.

You will no doubt find lots of help and good reading here so stick around. There are a lot of good people with experience that are willing to help out. I have gotten a lot out of the F150online forums. SuperCrew is my favorite, but I have received help from the General Care forum, Other Drive Train, and the Computer Chips forums as well.

With regard to your questions try the search engine at the top of the page it is a great resource. This is a link to a recent thread from doing a search on "mileage".

If you don't find exactly what you are looking for start a new thread or post a question in an existing thread . . . lots of folks here will are willing to respond.

See you around in the forum from time to time no doubt.

Fuel economy

I've had my S'crew for about 2 months. Highway driving chugging along at 65 mph I get about 16.7 mpg. I'm Canadian so I've converted my numbers just for you - We deal in liters / 100kms for fuel comparisions. That works ouyt to 14.1 liters / 100 Kms, or 3.72 U.S. gal per 62.13 miles.
Aint it fun dealing with 2 measuring systems on the rock. But, thats another conversation.

Also I'm checking into the K & N air filter system to try to improve the fuel usage.

I have the '03 Screw 2x4 with 5.4 engine 3.55 rear. I installed the flowmaster 50 cat back. I'm getting about 17.5 city/highway 50/50. Not broke in yet have 2300 miles after aabout 3 months.
Hope to improve after the break in period.
