Question New? Purchase

We brought our new 03 home last week, wnet on holidays and returned. I was reading the owners manual last night and received a little surprise. When I picked up the truck from my dealer it had close to 400 miles on it. My dealer received the truck from another dealer. Anyways last night I discovered the service manual was already filled out to someone else. So it wood appear I may have purchased a slightly used vehicle. The question is should I be concerned or not worry about it too much. I live in a small town and am positive my dealer had no clue about this unti lI showed him the manual. Thanks for the advice JR

Most car lot dealers say that the second you drive your new vehicle off the lot it drops the price of the vehicle by about 5-10 thousand. So I would go back and try to get some of your money back.

You know its there rules and if they make them they should play by em !

I would check the blue book or ask them what there black book shows for a used F-150. Then you will evidence for your case to get some money back.

Recent purchase

I recently made a purchase also, they got it from another dealer in the area. It did have the approximate mileage from where they said it came from. In fact when it came for the title, the other dealer was the 1st owner, then my dealer, then myself. You should check the title to see if there is an extra party in between who may have owned the truck.

Several years ago I bought a Z71 with only 600 miles on it. A buddy of mine had traded it on a HD, so it does happen. Of course it had been titled to him, was sold as used, and I saved a bundle over a new one. Check to see if you are the first owner on the title. That's a lot of miles but it's not unheard of for a new truck to have 400 miles, especially if it was driven from another dealership and also if it was test driven quite a bit. I wouldn't personally want one if I had a choice. Especially if I paid top dollar for it. It might also have the wrong service book in it. I'd have my dealer look into it. Keep us informed on what you find out. This could be interesting.

Yea, keep us posted. My initial thought was also to check the title. How far was the other dealership? Who knows, maybe someone took it home and the financing didn't go through...

new or used

I agree with everyone else here. The question is was it ever titled to anyone else? If not then it can be sold as new even with 400 miles. I would have them do a service check for the trouble and ensure nothing strange was done to the truck. Otherwise I would not worry too much over the situation.

Maybe run a Carfax report to check if it has ever been titled. If not, then you got a new one with a lot of test drives and/or dealer trades.

In the end, if you are happy with the truck and what you paid, there is nothing to worry about.

Hi guys thanks for the input. We checked the title no previous owner. I did get the warranty extended the extra miles. JR
