Unhappy Mud Flaps

Just installed the OEM Molded mudflaps. Could only do the front ones because the parts dept at the local dealer gave me the wrong ones for the rear. Glad I checked it out before making holes. Debated whether to put them on at all given all the plastic in the area. I decided to do it to save the after market step rails that were installed.

I'm guessing that your truck is 4X2. I own a 01 S'crew 4X2 and found out that hard way that Ford does not make the moulded rear flaps for the 4X2. The 4X4 ones did not fit to my liking. The fronts fit fine even with the stock running boards. I have checked with an aftermarket dealer in my area and he claims there is no moulded rear flap available for the 4X2. I continue to look for moulded rear flaps but so far no luck. I have installed the flat plastic/rubber Ford flaps on mine. Not the appearance I want but helps save the paint and keeps the rocks off my trailer. Had to build an extra bracket to support the inner edge of the flap, due to the curve of the wheel well the flaps won't sit straight without it. Happy hunting.

Husky makes some for the 4X2...have them on myself. There are many places on the web to buy a set. Most locl auto shops should have a limited selection as well.

Finally got em

Just picked up the oem molded mudflaps. It is for a 4x4, and the parts guy said they always have problems getting the right ones because there are so many variables. It looks like I will be able to put them on without removing the rear wheels for drilling.

Just curious, how does the SuperCrew differ from the flareside in the mud guard area? I've got a flareside with the OEM guards on a 4x2 (which I assume by 4x2 they mean no fender flares)...

saga continues

Cannot believe this is happening, got the correct mud flaps, but they did not provide the correct length of push pin retainers. Will have to wait another day. Cannot believe the trouble, it is just mud flaps! They do look pretty good though.
