Undercover installed. Very nice!

Put on my Undercover bed cover last night. Took about an hour in parking lot lighting. Minor trimming of bed liner was needed, but easy install. Looks very nice and fits well.

I just did the same on Sunday. I, too, have a bedliner (Ford Duraliner) and had to do some minor trimming as well (for the forward bracket corners). I really like this thing!!

Can either of you post a picture of what had to be trimmed on your liner? Just curious as I am thinking about the undercover but if the hinge forces you to cut the liner... I might go another direction.

Hmmm, I will try to get a good picture and email it to you. For my duraliner I only needed to shave a very small notch into the radius of the forward edge of the bedliner to allow the tip of the bracket to seat properly. It really wasn't a big deal and you can make the notch very neat in appearance...it doesn't go through the bedliner at all. Now, if you have another brand of bedliner you may not even have to trim that notch, it is variable based on the manufacturer. I can only speak for the stock Duraliner with the Ford emblem. I imagine that some gouges would be bigger than this notch, so for me it wasn't an issue. If you absolutely positively will not alter your bedliner then I guess you could shave down the corner of the mounting bracket but it will void your Undercover warranty.

I went ahead and replaced the drop-in liner with a Line-X spray-on liner. The dealer gave me $139 for it (though they charged me $259 on the original deal) since they can re-use it in another new truck and I did not want it to go to waste. I did not like the way it fit in the bed, espeically along the rails (looked like there was some bulging). Also, there were already signs of wearing and abrasion when we took it out not to mention the trash that they did not clean out of the bed before installing it. I had the truck for only 6 days at the time. With all this said and done, I am expecting a perfect fit when my UnderCover tonneau arrives.

Wombat, I can't see why you wouldn't be good to go. The Undercover was designed to be mounted on a stock box without a bedliner. Install is quite easy, no need to pay a shop or outside source to do it for you. Tonneau only weighs about 60lbs or so and it is a perfect fit all the way around. The only thing I noticed on my install is that I had to position the forward brackets slightly ahead of where suggested on the instructions for a great fit. This isn't unusual, however, since the instructions clearly state that such an adjustment -may- be necessary.

Got mine at TruckStuffUSA.com. Best price I found so far and they got it to me in 3 days.

Installed great and looks fab. Last truck I had a ******* fiberglass. Didn't take much to scuff it up and was way to hard to remove. None of these problems with the Undercover.

Congrats. Those do look nice. I want to see some pictures.

I considered the undercover but one thing steered me away and to the access cover.

Say you pop by a garage sale or home depot and buy something too big to fit under the cover, what do you do with the cover? I guess the simple answer is to go home and take it off, come back and get what you bought. But what if you are on a road trip and find an antique coke machine you just have to have? I guess it depends on how you use your truck and if you buy big junk like me (-:

I own an access rollup. It is very easy to fit anything in your bed on short notice as the whole thing just rolls up...cross bars and all.

My dad just got an Undercover and loves it. He was going to buy an Access like mine but when he went to the website I told him to go to, he found the Undercover instead. Haven't seen it yet, but he likes the fact it is so light and he can remove it by himself...he just hangs it on the wall he says. Also says he doesn't have to worry about scuffing like his old fiberglass cover.

by the by, I've become a loyal shopper to the web site Truck Stuff USA www.truckstuffusa.com. They are usually about as cheap as it gets on price but the thing I recommend them for is service. I've ordered three times and my father once. All four transactions were great. Really nice folks.

Good luck on deciding on your cover...Kick
