New stereo

Finally bit the bullet, and sprung for a new HU and new speakers for my 03 s'crew.

Got a Kenwood KDC-MP2222, and 4 Boston Acoustic FX8 speakers.... Man, what a huge difference compared to the stock system!

The Kenwood was by far the best bang for the buck for intermediate HU's, good power output, and does CDRW's and MP3 & WMA files (directory support too). The built-in EQ is a nice feature too.

Speakers was a tough one, I listened to them ALL. Boston, Infinity, Polk, Alpine, JL, etc.... I finally narrowed it down to the Infinity's and the Bostons. These 2 speaker are so close, but for the type of music I listen too, the tip went to the Bostons.

Theres just no comparison to the stock system, the sound is infinitely more vibrant and clear, and it goes quite a bit louder than the stock stuff too.

Everything, installed, with extended warranties, was $550 out the door.

Best thing I've done to my truck yet

You mentioned extended warranties.... I assume that you had it put in at BEAST Buy or Circuit *****y?

Was the customer service good? I've heard of several having issues with being treated like a customer and not a number there... I've never dealt with thempersonally, just thought I'd get your opinion.

Enjoy that new system man! Sounds like a nice one.

Nope.... hehe. I cant stand Beast Buy or Circuit *****ty. Bought everything at Audio Express. Its a smaller chain, but they do good work, and their prices are competitive. The beat Good Guys, Best Buy, and Circuit City by a little over $100 for the system installed. I did a lot of shopping around.

The only other place that came in the same ballpark for price here was Fry's Electronics, but they didnt have the Bostons there.
