Thumbs up Oh YEAH!

http://www.etronics.com

This site has much better prices then crutchfield and has all your stereo needs and much much more. I found I overpaid for my speakers from crutchfield....canceled my order and am ordering Autobahn speakers from Etronics. They have awesome prices.
And they have a car guide to see what fits....and they have the Kenwood Stereo I want (Kenwood DPX-MP4030) that has CD/MP3/Cassette receiver in a full size unit that fits perfectly in the Screw. Yeah....I know .....cassette... ..Hey I graduated in 1986 and have over 200 cassette tapes!!! And 100's of dollars invested in books on tapes....

Crutchfield wants $449 for it and Etronics has it for $309.00. THat is a huge difference in price.

Do you have to modify the opening or use an install kit to fit the Double DIN receiver ? I was also interested in a Double DIN unit but did not think it would fit.

Question I dunno

According to the vehicle selector in etronics.com, a double din reciever is what goes in the trucks.....maybe someone that has already replaced their stereo can answer that

Exclamation No sir

I did not go that route. I got the single cd player in my truck and found a 6cd in dash on Ebay from a 2003 Ford F-250 and got it for 195.00. Guy swore it was never used....as new as the truck itself. So I bought that instead and decided to use and MTX 4 channel amp to boost my Infinity Kappas. I think the head unit is good to go. I went to several stores and actually saw the Kenwood on display at Unltimate Electronics. So i talked to the sales guy like I was interested in buying it. You will need a bracket. It will fit in the whole no problem, but you need a bracket to hold it in place and will need to fabricate something to cover the edges on the dash. THe HU's in the trucks use the Keys to remove the stereos, and this unit is more designed for vehicles that take the bolts on the bottom like in the Expeditions or Explorers. However it will work. They assured me of that. Check ebay out.....cool stuff for really cheap. The dealerships want 750.00-900.00 for that in dash 6 cd player. 195 is even cheaper then the 295.00 upgrade when purchased new. THen get a good amp and good speakers and it will sound great.
