ABS light came on

Well I was doing dougnuts in the sand (about 3 times around) and the ABS light came on. I was wondering what triggers the computer to "freak out" and put on the light.

Does this mean that the ABS is disabled? I truned off the engine and started back up fine but I was curious to why this would happen. Not worried really just curious.

Oh and dougnuts are fun if you havent done any latley although aparently the computer has no clue what to think of them

When the light comes on, ABS is disabled.

I had something similar happen, my sensor was unplugged. Took the dealer 2 minutes to figure it out.

Another plausible explanation for the ABS light coming on may be that the FLI switch was tripped. The FLI, (Fluid Level Indicator) switch is located on the bottom of the brake fluid reservoir and there is a magnetic float in the reservoir. You may be a bit low on brake fluid (normal brake pad wear) and the centrifical force generated by the donuts may have momentarily tripped your switch. As long as it reset fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

Intresting, thanks for the info now if I can only disable the ABS with a switch for offroading purposes.

Where is that sensor that was unpluged on your truck 03F15054FX4? If that is all I have to do to disable the ABS I may just unplug that on off roading trips. Or is that a really bad idea?
