Can you help a Brother out?
Hey Guys,
Just recieved my state tax return (only a measly $900) and I can't decide on which mod I should purchase next?
A air intake kit (K&N FIPK or Airforce One) & SuperChip's MicroTuner, or new ring/pinion gears (4.10/4.56)?
My '03 Screw (5.4L/3.55LS) is all stock except for the 6" RCD suspension lift, 33" BFG's and the MagnaFlow #15609 Cat-Back system.
Which mod would provide me the most performance/gas mileage?
Which mod would give me the most bang for my buck$?
Any and all suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

I would do the gears first. Simply beacuse if you do them after you get the chip you will need to get the chip reburned if you change out the gears I believe. So if your looking at doing both eventually I would do the gears first.
Thanks Guys for the replies.
RockPick, don't feel too bad as I too had to pay over $1000 to Federal ~ like they don't get enough of my money as it is!!
It was the State that was giving me a little change back...

I agree if you want gears to get them first, but if your getting a programer then you can change the settings anytime with no extra cost. The FIPK is going to give you the most bang for your buck and the programmer would be second.
If your truck is a 4x4 then gears are going to be really expensive, if your a 2x4 then they will cost almost $800 for gears and labor.
What size tires do you have? 4.10s are rather large gears for a 2x4 unless you have 32" tires or larger and 4.56 are more for if you have 35" tires.
The FIPK and Cat-back are like brother and sister, they really help each other out because the air filter helps it pull in more air and the larger less restrictive exaust helps it expell that extra air.
Have fun with that return.

I signed an IRS check that made me sick to my stomach last night. (Don't ask). Go with the Microtuner. Hands down the most bang for the buck and easiest mod I've ever done on an F-150. I did a chip and air kit on my Lightning and air kit on the Lariat before that, but the Microturner "transformed" my King Ranch. It really pulls harder and shifts much better than stock.
Buy stock instead of spending it on a mod.
Your better off with the Mod, it will be something that you will have for many, many years. Unlike losing your money on the stock market when someone rips you off! Can you say ENRON?
