Thumbs up 100,000 miles in my SuperCrew !!!!

My baby reached the big 100,000 miles over the weekend....

We bought our S-Crew in Sept. of 2000....

For repairs we had the following done under warrenty:

Passanger side front window fixed (loose nut) 10k miles
Leaky transmission (loose hose) 10k miles

Rear diff bearings replaced- 95k miles

Not under warrenty:

Battery and alt.- 65k miles (alt should have been covered, but I needed the truck fixed right away so I just ate the cost)

Mods done to truck:

Lowered 3/4 with Western Kit,
20" Boyd Coddingtons with 285/50/20's

Better speakers and that's about it.

Wow. I have a '97 Ranger I got in October of '96 and I'm just about to hit 100,000 miles. And here I thought I drove a lot.

Yep, the S-crew is my daily driver...110 miles a day at a minimum.
I have a few other vehicles, but I'd rather drive the S-crew in stop and go traffic and even rolling down the freeway the S-crew is more comfortable than my other cars (I'm running 40 series 17" rims on my cars...not nice on rough roads)

Besides the daily use, we have taken the truck to Florida and back and to Lousiana once (driving the truck to Lousiana again in June) Living in the SF Bay Area, we take day trips to
So-Cal and to Reno in the S-Crew as well....it's just that easy of a truck to drive

Someone e-mailed me about the spark-plugs....I'm sorta embarrassed to admit that I am still running the original factory plugs. I have new plugs, but just been too lazy/busy to replace them.

The airfilter and oil is changed on a regular basis (6k miles for oil and 20k for the airfilter)

Oh, the truck does go thru brake pads....I've replace the fronts 3 times and the rears twice....Luckly I bought the Lifetime Semi-metalic pads from Kragens so I've only had to pay for the first set once and I just keep taking them back with no questions asked.

One more question-- Did you ever have any of the tranny thunk problems?

Thanks!

oh yes...the "thunk" is and always been there

I had the same "thunk" in my previous Ranger, so I just shrugged it off as a "Ford thing"
