Bed Cover

I was looking for a bed cover for my 02 SCrew. I looked at a hard bed cover for 800 dollars installed, but I thought that Some day I might want to haul taller stuff in there. I would like a cover that I can remove easily and put back on easily but looks good. I am probably looking for somthing that does not exist but if it does you guys will know. Thanks.

This is an Extang Platinum cover that can be rolled up or removed for large objects. I personally keep mine rolled up more then unrolled because im always carring something large. I paid about $215.00 with tax for this model, but I might be interested in selling it if you want to make an offer

Tek Style

>>>>I currently have the Tek Style soft tonneau cover on my SuperCrew. I like it alot, lifetime warranty on hardware and five year warranty on cover. I initially intended to get another Extang cover since I've had those on other trucks but the local shop couldn't get one before I left to go on vacation. They had a Tek Style cover and highly recommended it as well so I ordered it. I like the Tek Style slightly better than the Extangs I've had. The main reason being is that it's soft cover doesn't draw up as badly in cold weather making it much easier to snap back. Much easier than my Extang did. This is one thing they advertise about their covers and I was skeptical until I owned one. It still does shrink/draw tighter in cold weather, just not as bad as other soft covers I've owned and I have had no real trouble snapping it back. It comes with straps made to hold it in place when it's rolled up just like the Extang covers. So far no problems with this Tek Style cover.

>>>>I had an Extang on my last truck a 99 F150 SuperCab and I currently have one on my wife's truck a 2000 Nissan Frontier CrewCab. I really like the Extang cover as well. The only problems I had with the Extang was that the soft underside that seals the back of the cover of the top of the tailgate started to separate and come apart on both the F150 SuperCab and the Frontier. But Extang did replace it no problem. The Extang's snaps are reversable so if you turn them one way they pull the top more snugly in hot weather and if you turn them the other way they make it somewhat easier to snap the cover in cool weather. It too has the straps that hold the cover in place when it's rolled up. Both the Extang and the Tek Style are well designed quality products.

You didn't mention if you wanted a hard or a soft cover, so another option would be a retractable hard cover. I have a Retrax on mine and love it!

It is more secure than a soft cover, and more versatile than a hard cover, and can be removed (with no hassles) in a pinch if need be.

I have a X-tang Cover to fit a Super Crew for sale. I bought a Lightning and have no need for it. Cover was used only 3 Months still in perfect shape. I will take $100 plus $15 shipping.

I would consider a Access Cover. There web site is www.accesscover.com

It is a soft tonneau that rolls up.

I've had a Access cover for a little over 2 years on our '01 SCrew, wouldn't have anything else.

I'll throw my hat into the ring. I have an UnderCover hard tonneau. It made of a high impact plastic and only weighs 58 lbs. Weather tight, dual locks, even comes with the hooks to hang it in your garage when you take it off. No drilling, just clamps on so you can remove it from the truck without any signs of ever having had it on. Their site is www.undercoverinfo.com where you can get more info and see the strength of the cover.

Here's come pics of mine

Notice the wing piece that cover the extra bed side, instead of the cover going straight across

Your undercover looks nice. I have any earlier model that did not have the wings. I am glad to see they changed the design.

bdmofo....

Just priced an undercover hard lid for my Screw. Does $595.00 sound about right price wise? Is it a pain to remove when you want to haul something?

I like the UNDERCOVER, I also carry bicycles all the time. I haven't looked at covers because the bikes stand up in the bed now. If I could mount the bikes on top of the cover, that may solve my problem with covers. Can you drill holes in it to accept bike tight bike mounts? They only require 2 small holes per mount.

I have the Ford factory style snapless soft cover on mine, but I got tired of trying to roll that thing up and removing the cross rails every time I needed the bed.

Last week I ordered a Retrax, it hasn't come in yet, but I am anxiously waiting.
