4x2 Fog Lights And Valance

I was wondering if I could put the 4x4 valance with fog and tow hooks on my 4x2 supercrew 150? I know there is a kit for this but the 4x2 kit does not include the tow hooks. thank you

Yes you can. I have talked to someone about the tow hooks. They said they put in on their truck and worked fine. I just recently had a 4x4 valance puton my 4x2. The valance does not come with the lights. From Ford the valance is 180 and change, and the Fogs are 140 and change a piece. I would NOT get the fogs from Ford. I got mine off of ebay for 62 bucks for the pair.

Look at her other auctions; I believe she has put up another auction for another set of lights. The buy now is at 75 bucks. I havent gotten the lights yet, but she has been great with communicating with me and she emailed me a tracking number and they should be here tomarow so Ill let you know of the quality.

Also about the tow hooks, I think the guy who I talked to got his off of ebay for like 70 bucks or so. He said all he had to do was drill some holes (in the frame I guess) to attach the tow hooks. Said it was fairly easy just took a lil' while.

I just picked up my "factory" valance, lights, and new switch up from my local Ford dealer last night for $314.00 complete. Will install it this weekend. Now I can see where I am going.

Did you get the 4x2 valance or a 4x4 valance. The 2003 supercrews have foglights. I was just curious which one you got.

Will you post pics of your install?

I got the 4x2 valance. And yes, I will attempt to get some pictures once it is on. I still owe some pics of the leather
reupholstery job on the seats in my Lightning on that board so
I better get the camera out soon.

Marc.

Did it come with a 4 position headlight switch that pulls out for foglights? You know on, off parking lights and automatic lights.

Can you email me a part number?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom.

The kit comes complete with the valance, lights, wiring harness, and switch. Only thing is that it is not the factory switch that they
lead you to believe it is. It is a single rocker switch.
I installed everything but the switch they sent. Instead of cutting into the dimmer switch wiring harness , I opted to seperate the power wire and install a single throw toggle switch on the lower portion of the instrument panel (lower left of steeiring wheel) so I can turn the fogs on seperately, with the head lamps, or even with the high beam head lamps.
It is a straight forward installation which takes about 1 1/2 hours if you follow the enclosed instructions.
Ford part number is as follows. YL3Z-15200-AAA. Less than $340.00, and looks factory.
Good luck

Marc

Well my advise is get the valance for Ford. You will pay about 18-for that I do believe. Then just get the Fogs off of ebay you will pay around 50-85 bucks there(I paid 62 with shipping included). I ordered mine from 'Partzway' she had a great product. And either make your own wiring harness, use the existing one, or buy one. I bought one since they didnt have everything I needed to make my own. It costed about 20 bucks. And I had to buy the sockets for the lights which were about 10 bucks.

Well since mine was in a wreck (which wasnt my fault) I just had them put the new valance on it. And I just had to pay for the lights and wiring. So all in all I spent right under 100 bucks. But if you get the valance from Ford and buy everything seperate. you will probably be in the neighborhood of 300. My advise to you is look for a valance perhaps on ebay or a junk yard and maybe see if you can save your self some money.

Just installed my lights last night. They light up the road so much better, but installing thme was a pain in the ***. It may be easier if you have the ford kit since it may have some special screws/bolts. I'll post some pictures in a few...

In both pictures the Lights are on. You just cant tell in the second one since its too bright out. I hooked them up through the parking lights so that way whenever I turn on the parking lights the fog lights comes on also.

Thanks that seems alot cheaper. Why didnt you use the existing ford wiring? Im not sure I understand.

What about a switch, how did you install that? Did you buy and oem switch?

THanks

Well I didnt use the exisiting wiring beacuse I forgot it was there. (Doh) Also I didnt use it beacuse I didnt know how it wired up to the switch, and at the time it was just easier to go ahead and drop a new harness, it didnt take long at all. I did not use a switch so to speak onthe fogs. Basically when ever I turn on the parking lights they come one, so that means when I turn on the headlights they come on too. What I did was 'tapped' into the fog lights power source (the power wire going to the parking lights) and used that as the 'turn on' wire for the relay. So as soon as the parking lights get power it triggers the relay and turn it on, which then turns on the fogs.

I did that because I didnt really want a switch on the fogs. I didnt really have any need for it since whenever my headlights are on I will have the fogs on.
