I'm not sure how they do it but I'd say it has to do with where the striker is placed. Not sure.... take it by the stealership and have them give it a glance.

I was having to go anyway. The brake pedal squeaks and the right rear bumper cover (top, black plastic) is stripped where the license plate screws in. New truck bugs, don't you love 'em! LOL!

Yeah, it always takes a few trips to squash those bugs. They are a PITA.

G'LUCK!

Thanks! Yea, they are a PITA, but worth it! My '01 is in their shop too getting some warranty work done as my sister is getting it. I really liked the '01, so we bought a '03. I'm not much on the looks of the '04 and this time around got the sunroof, running boards and bed extender!

Cool

Almost 35K on my '01 'screw. Here's the list so far:

1. Oil pressure sending unit.

2. Both front lumbar seat mechanisms replaced.

3. Seat belt recall.

Now, I'm gonna have to take her in for a steering column issue: When I hit bumps, there is something loose in the column and the shifter handle rattles around. VERY ANNOYING !!

I just hate taking it to the dealer, mostly because I'm pretty **** about how she is taken care of and without knowing the mechanic, I'm concerned about someone disassembling the column.

I tried posting about it here, but it seems I'm the only one who has the problem...

Oh well, I love my SuperCrew !!

here is my list - 2002 s-cew 4x4 king ranch

1. friction modifier added to ls rear axle
2. pin stripe fixed on one rear door - it was crooked from factory.
3. driveline shudder fixed when brand new '03 transfer case installed.

issues still not fixed

1. whistle in engine compartment when cold.
2. brake pedal creaks (they've tried to fix this twice)
3. rear axle whine around 50 mph.

issue that drives me the most nuts!

1. when outside temp below about 20 degrees the interior door panels rattle alot on bumps...highly annoying on a 37k truck!!

I'm just shy of 25K, on my 01 Lariat.
Took it in for;
1. Center fold down arm rest (I have the 60/40), had way too much play and squeaked from day one.
2. Drivers seat sloped toward the door.

They sent it out and had the drivers seat repadded.
They ordered the new arm rest and are installing it today.

I forgot to mention that the seat belt did not retract properly and they're fixing that as well.

Pretty happy with the service. I didn't think I had a chance with the seat, but they didn't even question me on it.

Ironically, I was just reading about someone TODAY that had a very similar problem B-Man... I'm going to attempt to dig that thread up but, I believe it was right here in the SCREW forum. I haven't been on the 'other site' much today... I know it was here.

HEY B-MAN...

RIGHT HERE... https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...729#post892729

Sounds like you two need to get together and discuss options on getting it fixed! Share the wealth with the rest of us too... maybe others have this problem and haven't come to the surface as of yet.

At 5k I had a broken or loose screw for the powerwindow on the passanger side front fixed.

Just a few weeks ago at 97k miles, I had the rear diff bearings replaced due to howling. Extended warr. covered all of the repair except for the fluid and 2 hours of work?!?!?!

98,825 miles as of this morning !!!!

Haven't been to this site for ages... feels like I have a lot of catching up to do.

As for warranty work, the power steering pump was replaced on my Gen I. I think at the time the truck had less than 12,000 miles and was not even a year old. I remember being p.o.'d because they used a remanufactured unit (the story was there was no new parts available at that time).

No other issues. I am real pleased with the truck.
