Does anyone have this?

I have an '02 w/ a 4.6 and when it's idling in park, it kinda "ticks". It does it pretty loudly, to the point that i'm embarassed to let it just idle there.

I brought it in this week and they said that the only thing that they heard was loud injectors and that it was common.

It's pretty sad that my crown vic 4.6 with 150k sounds better at idle than this one with 11k.

 

A buddy of mine with a 5.4 in a SD has the same problem.

Did they tell him that he has "loud injectors"?

When they told me that, i felt like Tom Hanks in Joe vs. the Volcano when they told him he had a brain cloud, lol.

 

My old (93) Jeep Cherokee did this bad. It sounded like a diesel. It ran great for 150K, with no problems though. I thought my new '03 Screw was doing it just slightly, but noticed it didn't get any faster or louder on acceleration. The Jeep did. Then I noticed that it only did it while in drive with the brake engaged. If I put it in Park, it completely went away.

Mines only very slight, so it doesn't really bother me.
