Angry Bird Strike

Check this out, I was cruising down the road and a buzzard was on the side of the road. They starting moving off the shoulder to the grass, then one took off and pow.

I can't believe this happened to someone else. I hit a buzzard in my old Ranger back in '97. It scratched my hood, ripped off my antenna and passenger side windshield wiper. Smashed in my windshield, too.

I've only hit a couple of birds to date but, luckily, they all were of the 'wren' variety and not big enough to inflict damage on that scale.

Geesh.... hate to see that happen to your truck!! Good luck with insurance and such... that's always a pain in the rump.

Right on Rock Pick, take'em out. I've called the insurance company, and I'm having the winshield replaced tomorrow. I was surprised how easy it was for me. Luckily I have a friend that does windshields and he has one in stock.

I've been saying..

That there should be a Buzzard season, during the summer! That way we can keep our hunting stuff sighted in and we would benefit the auto community.

There's an electrical tower a few miles from my house, the tall kind that kinda looks like a man standing with arms outstretched and another set of arms below that and anyways... That sucker is like a roosting area for the buzzards and quite literally, there will be hundreds of buzzards sitting on anything they get their little meat grabbers on... I need to take a picture of it because I know it probably sounds like I am exaggerating by saying hundreds of birds, but it is unbelievable...

I just bought a new Marlin 44 Mag lever action (1894 Cowboy) with a 24" barrel that ought to ventilate them pretty well...

Too bad it's illegal...

Ya know the little black dots around the outside edge of the windshield? well on the HD windshield, all those little dots are in the shape of a HD symbol just a little cool detail
