Hi, I'm Mike, I'm from the HD board. (Why do I feel like I'm at my Thursday meeting?)

You know, it's funny. I was a little bored waiting for an ebay auction to end. I was reading some of the Lightning posts, and all it is, is a bunch of bickering and signature comparing, and no real pertinant information. Now my first read over here and you guys have come up with about a dozen different ways to get exhaust bushings of of the hanger brackets. Kinda makes you wish they had a value system or report card for pertinant information. Not that I care how many posts I have (As you can tell from my 400 posts in 2 years). Anyways, enough wasting your time. Keep up the good work!

Mike

Rubber Bushing Installation and Removal

All good tips so far, here's another,

My dad was an auto mechanic for years and taught me a long time ago the best lubricant to use for rubber bushings, hoses, etc. and almost every mechanic has it in the garage already. "GoJo" or any waterless hand cleaner without pumice works wonders when trying to install tight hoses, rubber bushings, hand grips, rubber exhaust hangers, etc. Of course if you use it help install hand grips you need to let it sit about 24 hours to allow the lubricant to dry. Give it a try.
