Question lightning wheels/tires and new shocks

I have a 2001 SCrew 5.4L which had the 275/60?/17 BFG Longtrail wheels/tires and hated the floaty feeling.
I was planning to switch shocks to Rancho 9000x, but bought a used set of lightning wheels and tires, 295/45/18 Goodyears first.
It rides a lot stiffer now and wondering if I would lose a kidney if I upgraded the shocks?
Still have the stock shocks on and only have about 5K miles on truck.
Has anyone else upgraded shocks after adding lightning wheels and tires? Would the softer setting on the 9000x still handle much better than stock shocks?

Thanks

I also have a 01 SCrew and want to do the same thing you did with the tires. How much did you get them for?
With regards to the shocks, I would buy Blistein, they will give you the sporty feel that I think you are looking for. If you really want your truck to feel like a race car, then buy Tokico shocks. You'll feel every bump on the road, but the truck will be glued to the road. (just my two cents)

BTW, if you have any pictures of your truck with the new wheels, post them on the board. I'll like to see it. Better yet, show the before and after pictures if you have them.

Hey Eandres,
I bought them off a classified ad here. I paid $900 for wheels/tires off a '02. I probably could have haggled lower, but the guy was local, had the lugs and locks, svt center caps, and no scratches on wheels. Plug and play basically and the difference is amazing. If you do this, make sure you read the message threads on the brake line move and the brake bracket bolts so you don't cut the front brake lines or scratch the front inner wheels. I don't have before pics and I think there are a ton of pics of Supercrews and lightning wheels on this board.
