diagnostics test

I just gave my truck a diagnostics test because the check engine soon light came on. The result was "1401 undocumented code". does anyone have any idea what that means? I've called Ford and they don't want to tell me and I don't have a screw manual. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Robert "chevyblows"

btw, i have a 2001 screw 4.6 4X2

It's documented....

P1401:

Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) Sensor Circuit High Voltage Detected/EGR Temperature Sensor

Probable Cause:
Wiring, pressure feedback sensor, Engine Control Module.

It is a faulty sensor or a wiring harness issue with the DPFE or PCM (Don't worry too much about the PCM though).

Ford just extended the DPFE warranty to 75,000 miles on certain vehicles. You may want to look into that. The program is 02-M-01.

Read what the dealer techs think of 02-M-01 before you bring your truck in though.

ajragno, thanks for the info. i took what you printed, called ford, had them check out my truck, and sure enough, it was the dpfe. they repaired it free!!! coincidentally, i received a letter from ford around a month ago saying that the dpfe was being recalled.

thank you for your help.
