Proud New Owner!!

Hey,

First off, thanks to all of you who helped me with my previous post.

As of this afternoon I am the proud new owner of a DSG 2003 F-150 XLT SuperCrew, with all the options!!

I got a way killer deal using the X-Plan (thanks again, you know who you are!), and my Credit Union gave me a pretty decent interest rate.

This coming Friday I will be having it lifted (6" RCD suspension lift) and aftermarket wheels/tires (American Racing/BFG's) installed.

Also, early next week it goes back to the dealer for a 'Rear Entertainment' install ~ 8" LCD/DVD player.

I am so stoked right now that every 5 minutes I keep looking out my patio window to see my new truck sitting ther in the driveway so pretty!!

I will post some pix this weekend.

-James

p.s. Is it standard practice for the dealer to wash/wax/detail your vehicle prior to recieving it?
They did a real crappy wash only job on mine and there is a small scratch on the passenger side.
My sales guy kinda upset about it too but he said bring it back at a later day and he'll have it done up real good this time.
I would have had them do it again right, but I was at the dealer from 10:30 am til almost 4:00 pm.

Sounds like a great purchase. I am not sure about the washing, waxing, and detailing. I bought mine used so I don't think they did much for it. Sounds like you got a sweet truck though anyway and that they are treating your right.

Sweet, congrats!

Hopefully your salesman won't re-neg on the re-detailing of your new ride (unless you got it in writing from him of course). Gotta love that DSG.

Superbeast54,

Your truck looks sweet.
As mentioned earlier I am having the 6" RCD suspension lift installed this coming Friday.
The guy at the shop recommended where I am having it done recommended that I go with a 33" tire?
In your opinion do think it will look okay, as opposed to the 35" tire?
He said a 35" tire may rub?
I just don't want the 33" to look to dinky for my truck.

Talking 35

You didnt mention if your truck was 4wd or 2wd. If it is 4wd-GO WITH 35's! 33's will look tiny with a 6" lift. There is still room left with 35's in the wheel well. You could probably get 37's under there with atrue 6" lift. Why are you using an RCD lift? Just curious- Idid alot of research on these lifts and Fabtech seemed to be the best. Good luck and enjoy your new toy!---Paul

It’s a 2wd, the guy at the shop where I am having it done did mention Fabtech but highly recommended the RCD lift kit ~ he said it is a awesome kit that uses Bilstien shocks, plus the kits are a hot item right now.

So you really think the 33’s will look tiny under the truck once lifted?
Would you say that the 35’s would be a lot more in price?

Since its only a 2wd I would probably go with 33's. Idont think it will sit as high as a 4wd ---Paul

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give you guys a little update on my week old SuperCrew:
I picked it up today after work from Off Road Unlimited in Burbank and I can't begin to tell you how awesome my truck looks now!!
They installed the 6" RCD suspension kit, Weld Racing Outbacks w/33" BFG Mud Terrians.
I am soooo frigin happy, the truck looks so damn tight!

This weekend I plan to clean her up real good and take a bunch of digital pix and post them in my new gallery (if I can ever get it to work).

Also, last week the dealer installed (actually they subbed it out) the 'Rear Entertainment Center' (8" flip-down LCD display and DVD player).

Thanks again to everyone for all the great feedback/advice/suggestions ~ this board and it's members ROCK!
