I need to replace mine too. I think it is underneath the truck by the gas tank. Big silver thing.

I have 30500 on mine.

Cool

I'm about to change the filter on my 2001 f250 sd. I purchased the workshop manuals from http://www.helminc.com
At $146 it's kind of expensive, but they are indispensable if you are going to work on your truck.
In order to change the filter you will have to relief the pressure from the fuel system. You'll have to buy Ford's "pressure relief guage" to do it. You'll also need a couple of different disconnect tools for the couplings that connect to the filter.
The good news is that the filter is easy to get to. Lie on your back and crawl under the driver door. It's up beside the rail.
I'm getting ready to call the dealer to see if he has the tools in stock that I need. If you want to email me I can fax you the pages that you need (the f150 s/b similar) and give you the prices on the tools(as well as tool numbers you'll need to get them). I can be reached at petersen.pete@delcoremy.com

How do you disconnect and reconnect the fuel lines on the fuel filter of my 2005 F250 Super Duty 4x4 w/ 5.4L gas engine? The connections are awfully stiff.

Well it has been ...huhhuummm...a #*!%#! trying to change what should've been an easy task. Guys make sure you have done your research as to which fuel line connection is on your filter. There could be one of several kind. The "quick disconnect" tool could damage the weathered, brittle plastic connection. Ford just keeps missing the mark at a "critical" point of contact for repair. " The blue connectors can't be replaced" says Ford hse. Also make sure of the correct filter that the diameter of the tubing of the filter is the same. They gave me a Fram filter that was the wrong diameter (5/16") instead of the 3/8" needed. You'll keep pressing trying to hear the click only to damage the "plastic connection in a tight place near the 4x4 transfer case. It can become a major headache!!
