Toulene For A Highway Trip ??? Will It Help Mpg?

Hi there guys,

I`ve seen a lot of posts over in the Lightning forum that say that TOULENE helps when racing. And I`ve even read where some guys are putting toulene in their supercrew trucks.

If I toss in a gallon of toulene for a long highway trip, will it help my gas mileage at all? I`m about to take a 1500 trip in my truck and am just curious about it, I thought I would try it if I thought it would help the gas mileage.

I have a 2001 GEN III Supercrew 4x4 Offroad with 3.55 and 17 inch wheels.

I`m always trying to beat the system

Wes

Hmmm... let's see, add a gallon a tank to improve gas mileage. The way I figure, you buy 25 gals of gas at $1.50 = $37.50. Replace one gallon with the toulene and and the cost becomes $36 + $6= 42. 42 divided by $1.50 equals 28 gals is the difference in cost. So you have to gain 3 gallons worth of mileage. Which for me would be about 54 miles. So, you would have to get > 2 miles per gallon increase from a octane only boost... not likely....
