Question Radio switch

I have a 2001 Gen III Supercrew with the standard radio AM/FM Stereo Single CD player, which I am very happy with. My question is, Can I switch this radio with the one that is available in the F250, Premium AM/FM Stereo, Cassette and single CD Player, or is this radio too big for my Supercrew? My buddy has a Silverado, and his has both the Cassette and CD Player.

Any responses would be appreciated.

They make a FM/AM CD cassette radio from Ford that will fit your truck. I just sold one on eBay, there are a bunch on there. I'm not sure if the 250 radio is different, but there is a 150 one.

Yep, it'll work. Same DIN size...

More importantly than just DIN size, make sure the connectors on the back of the radio are the same.

I've been searching EBay for a radio like the 6 disc in-dash changer available in the 2003's. I've found them from different types of Fords and noticed that all have the antenna connector (obviously...) and some some two or three connectors on the back right. Also, the ones from the mustangs don't appear to have the release holes on the face of the unit.

Hope this helps!

I have 2001 Gen III Lariat SCREW and I replaced my "CD Only" radio with one with from Radios n More Radios and More link so I could listen to books on tape. Radios and More bought my single CD unit.

Go to this forum link old forum link for details on how I got connected to Radios and More and on replacement.

I did have to cut some plastic in the dash to make new unit fit. I also lost speed volume control. The new radio works just fine, but there may be better solutions now.

Whew, I haven't posted for a while and it took SEVERAL edits to get this puppy right!!

Good luck
