Stock Supercrew 4x4....biggest wheel and tire??
I have a stock 01 Supercrew. I've read the posts about wheels and tires but what is the biggest wheel and tire I can fit without any rubbing? And at what size do they start rubbing? Thanks in advance.
IF you adjust the torsin bars in the front you should be able to put on 33" tires with no problems. My mud tires are 285/70/17 and are 32.7" in diameter. I have no rubbing (not even close) so 33"s should be fine.
The other factor is the wheels themselves. I was limited in tire size because I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on new wheels as well. The Ford 17" wheels are only 7.5" wide so this was as large as I could go.
Check out my pics...
NOTE: the 4x4 is 3" higher than the 2x4 from the factory. The first thing to rub will be when you crank the steering one way or the other. If they still have good clearance then your good to go. 35" tires would be too big, almost positive on this. But the 33"s unless your jumping your truck should NEVER rub.

I have 4" suspension lift w/ cranked torsion bars on a 2001 4x4 Screw.
the 35/12.5/16.5 would barely rub w/ no compression of the suspension. Under compression in a turn it would get kinda bad. 5 minutes with the dremel set up with a little cutoff blade and it was fine minus a bit of extra plastic trim (don;t worry nothing you can see).
I have 33's now and they do not rub whatsoever
Just throw em on they'll rub away anything that is in their way, take a hammer to it bang them fenders out.
Jump it till it quits squeakin
