Put the 2 strike bolts into the middle hole on each side of the tailgate opening. They are self threading, so the hole has no thread.
The extender has two receptacle clips, one on each side. The tailgate must be down and the extender installed in the extended position.
Line up the strike bolts with the clips and push down. To lock the extender in position, push the big plastic pins into the hole above the strike bolt. When it's locked, the red on the shaft of the platic pins will disappear and green will show.
When you put the extender into the bed, put the pins in the holes under the striker bolts.
