Westin nerf bars, 4x2?

Are nerf bars only for 4x4's? I want to put some on my truck but Im getting harrassed at work by the other guys. I hear stuff like, "those are only for 4x4's" I would like to hear from some 4x2 owners that have em installed? Pictures would be better.

I had a Black Dodge Ram with the Sport Package. I purchased it used and it had some larger tires and sat higher than most 2wd trucks. I put some black Weston Bars on it to help the little ones get in the truck. Most of the Ford 2wd do not sit that high and I think it would not look right. MHO.

Lift your truck.
It'll shut them up for a bit.

Ford seats sit higher than most other trucks and if you have a family like I do the factory running board is a crowd pleaser - helps the kids and wife get in and out. Why else would I have a Screw if it wasn't for the people carrying aspect. Also, with my Husky mud guards the running board helps keep dirt etc off the side of the truck. However, I hate the looks of the factory thing and one of my future mods is a chrome nerf bar to replace it (I'll just have to wash more frequently).
Questions I'd have are:
Would it be functional if you put it on - using it to step up on to get in?
Don't those 4x4 guys lose some ground clearance with a nerf bar?
and
Who cares what they think !!!!!!!! It's your truck, not theirs.

Screwfly......Mobil 1 don't count as a mod unless you buy it online - otherwise it's just an oil change. Amsoil sythetic does regardless where you buy it.

Thanks momule, I wasn't sure. Probably going to Redline after this change, and I have to buy it online by the case!

Thumbs up Westin Nerf Bars

TFLEMING, go ahead and get the Nerf Bars, they will not only make it easy to climb into the truck but it will also protect your truck when you park at Wal-mart and some jerk throws open his doors and smaks the side of your truck. Instead they'll put a nice dent in their door.
