Mod Prices -- Are They Dropping?

With the introduction of the 2004 looming on the horizon, has anyone noticed a significant drop in the price for mods on our 'late model' body style F150's?

One of the first things I've noticed is the price of HID kits... specificially the Xenarc kits. They started off around $800+ and now they're down to around $400.

Anyone else noticing this?

Rockpick,

Im not sure on the prices dropping, but I sure hope that they do when the 2004 model year comes out.

BTW, I still wanna get those HID's! They look awesome. Do you have any before and after pics from your rig?

Also, is just the low beam the "Xenon" or is the high beam as well?

Thanks and Merry Christmas,

Jim

Lets see.....if I remember Econ101 correctly then increased demand will result in increased supply which should lower costs.
Thats why you can buy a Lincoln Blackwood right now at $10,000 under cost....no one wanted one.

I got curious myself so did a little online looking. Called Southwest Lincoln Mercury in Houston Texas (they were the first big dealership that I found with an 800 number). The salesman said there were several in the Houston area and he could have me test driving one tomorrow.
Of course, I've never been one to fully trust what a sales person says when he's trying to get me in the door........

edit:
Also recieved an email from an online outfit out of California called MyCar.com that stated they could deliver a new Blackwood too.
They stated in their email, "I still have a Blackwood available at a great price $39,999 and special financing if you qualify".
From the Blackwood section of our site I think those trucks have been reduced into the 37K range so 40K is high.
Also there's a dealership that's offering a new Mercury Cougar for free if you buy a Blackwood at regular price. (Cougar is being phased out also this year).

I know this is all off topic and I apologize.......it's just where things headed briefly.....

Is there an option to pay full sticker for the BW and have them keep the POS Cougar?

Sam Johnson Lincoln/Mercury in Charlotte, NC just ran an ad in the paper last Friday for Blackwood's at $20,000 under sticker. That makes them about the same price as a SCrew lariat fully equipped.

As I recall, all Blackwoods are 2 wheel drive only.

I'll stick with my 4X4 Lariat, and bypass the swinging doors tailgate.

That's a GREAT deal. I wish that deal had existed when I bought my KR...

Sure it's only a 4X2 but, some of us don't have the need for a 4x4... hence, that's why I own a 4X2 KR.

Now Rockpick, wouldn't you look silly with a Blackwood out in the middle of one of those jobsites you frequent? It might get dirty? The KR looks like it's ready to work.

LOL... I'm not sure that my 4X2 would foot the bill for all of the necessary work functions that I have. Being a geologist, I have to get out to work behind a drill rig logging borings in some pretty 'hairy' places. Needless to say, the KR hasn't made those trips.

That's why we have a corporate account with Enterprise Car Rental. Let's just say that the last GMC Envoy that I rented... well... we got our money's worth on it!! LOL!!
