Got My stuff from JDM
JDM customer service (lack of)
I also sent in my flip chip to JDM for a reburn after I bought a Magnacharger from Crash. Crash had said to have patience, but they do turn out a good product. After 2 months of asking when I was going to get my chip, it finally arrived and I am very pleased with the results. JDM leaves a lot to be desired about their customer service. I was flat out lied to about when the chip was to ship on at least 8 different occasions. I figured they lost my chip (which they obviously did) because I got a new in the box chip. At least they did do that one some good. Maybe with enough complaints, JDM can clean up their act. I do credit Kyle with helping me as best he could. I am happy now and can't wait to put on the 9psi pulley. Crash has been absolutely wonderful to deal with! His customer service will greatly increase when he can do reburns inhouse.

The facts
The facts are that I called at least twice a week for over two months. I have phone records of countless long distance calls (I'm in CA) in which I was even put on hold everytime, enough said. I cannot even recall how many times I was told that "Jim is burning your chip right now as we speak", then I call the next week, and get a new story depending on who I talk to. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that they are trying to b.s. me everytime. I have heard that they are good lightning tuners, but we are not lightning guys, just F150's, and if that is a problem for them, then they should be honest! For everyone who is currently a customer of theirs, best of luck, if your experience is anything like mine and others, you are going to need all the luck you can get. As for me, I have taken my business elsewhere, and will recommend against JDM in the future if anyone asks me directly.

dhrkmr,
Not trying to be rude and be off topic, but, do you know what eles is needed for the 9lb pulley? I have a 99' 4.6 that I just installed a Magna on. I plan on getting a superchip re-burn at least and eventually a shift kit, but I need to know what is the minimum requirements needed to make the 9lb pulley operate properly on the Magna 4.6?

Man it sounds like you have it rough.......... with the Florida beaches, boats, beers, and......babes! Oh yeah, all that work on Flats mans truck too......ha!

Well, I installed the parts. and I Love the results of the fuel Mods. the truck runs great and seems to be much stronger. i notice it especially on the low end. when i punch it from a stop now it does a nice burnout. The truck is running great, except for 2 times it was very difficult to start. i had to give it gas for a while to get it to crank. then it starts fine and runs good too. I dont know why it did this. but it was only yesterday. today it ran perfectly. I have no clue what it could be. anyway. those of you looking to do the fuel mods. It does help!!! ALOT. i am very pleased. Next up is the 13LB pulley and electric fans. Will the fun ever end. all of you waiting to get chips or anything like that. Good luck, Crash has made this work for me. Good thing for him or i might go insane haveing to deal with JDM. Anyway, i suppose it was worth it in the end. But i will never order from JDM again. I agree totally about telling the truth if it is going to take a long time. the thing that killed it for me was shipping the wrong product. But, i think i will be ok with the single program. eventually i will get down to REM and get the DIABLO dyno tuned. I think i am going to go to the track on wed. I have not installed the Valvebody yet. hopefully i will get it done by then. but if i dont i will just run without any tranny mods. Ill let you guys know the times.

no no, it is 12. that was my bad on the 13. But..... HEHEHE. About the burnout, to get a good burnout(2 tire marks about 8ft long) i had to powerbreak. But not very hard, just a little bit. and if i just punch it it does spin a bit but not really a burnout, just a little chirping. I was extremely happy with how these mods helped the bottom end, i wasnt even close to a burnout before, even with powerbreaking. I also have 20s with P27545R20s, so they are harder to spin than stock.
The parts i got in the upgrade were.
-Lightning 90MM MAF
-Ford Racing 42lb Injectors (same as L)
-Breather Cap (ford racing part)
-Superchip with custom code by JDM
I got all the parts from JDM. They are all ford parts except the chip, so you could easily get them from a parts center or fordpartsonline.com. JDM's chip has turned out to be a really good code. but i had to go through hell to get it as you all know. I dont know what i would reccomend on to do for a chip. But these fuel mods really do wake up the engine even more. I will be doing electric fans soon, and the 12PSI. and whatever else it is that crash has to tell me about. Maybe i will be the one to test out the new intake setup on a 5.4. I am getting close to where i want to be on the intake side of the truck. I havent even begun to get into exhaust at all. I am bone stock. so im sure there is more power to be had there. I will probably go to REM in Lauderdale for exhaust work. and possibly 4.10s. If i get down there i will probably have the truck dyno tuned so i will have some power numbers. I should definately get to the track by friday. i may go on WED. I havent done my tranny yet, but i can run with it the way it is. I am just cant wait to get some times.

2000F150HD,
Glad to hear everything worked out fine. Very cool, that you have high end torque and now some more low end torque. Sounds like the best of both worlds! So you are still using the stock throttle body?
Just for your own reference, I also just checked your 275/45/20 size on a tire calculator site. That size is shown to be 29.7 inches tall. As we know, the stock 275/60/17 and stock 255/70/16s are 30 inches tall (with the stock 3:55 rear gears), therefore, your tires should be a tad shorter than stock?
Although, I know a guy that has a 99' model F150 v8, auto trans that got 235/70/16s which are 29 inch tall tires. The only reason he can think of as to why he got shorter stock tires was because he ordered the 3:08 rear end.

Installed my 9psi pulley tonight, and man what a difference it makes over the stock 5psi pulley. I just had to go out and find me a little rice burner with a coffee can muffler and do a little stop light racing. He kept asking me what I had under the hood after I smoked his a**, so I told him to look at the liscence plate frame (supercharged by Magnacharger). Needless to say the one I found was no problem. Without break torqueing it will do some chirping. The JDM reburn has proved quite beneficial. It is absolutely amazing how fast that 5000# plus brick will move down the road. Crash you da man!

Iron Horse,
All I had to do was put in the motorcraft 22c plugs. Crash said to do this during the install of the magnacharger because it is an easy thing to do. So really all I have is the kit, the 9psi pulley and the new copper plugs. I added the 2"radiator core and the 180deg tstat. All per Crash's rec. AWESOME!

dhrkmr,
Thanks for taking the time to provide that info!!!!!
I installed the awsf 22c as well, per Crash's recommendations (could not find them until after the install of my 4.6 magna).
SO, a chip-reburn, and the 9 pound pulley!
The thermostate change is no big deal if that is required. Don't understand why you put a 2 inch radiator core in?
Sounds like I may be getting one very soon!
Thanks again.

Iron Horse,
I figured if the Lightning has a 2" core, then so should I. The tstat change was per Crash! I had a heck of a time finding those plugs. None of the local parts houses had them, so I had to call up to the big city of St. Louis and buy them from a Ford Dealer. Good Luck!
