Position of the MAF?

How critical is it to have it in the exact same position as stock. Rotational wise?

I know that putting it on backwards is not good. LOL I am not sure how much the rotation of it matters. i got mine pretty close to vertical.

I am rearranging this there any for my ATI but I have it close to stock now and tried it different rotational position and did not seem to have any ill effects. I just don't really like it so close to the compressor heat (The plug part).

I am working on moving the MAF down further and some ducting. Just e-mailed crash what I'm doing to see what he thinks.

Not a stocker MAFS, but...

ROUSHFAN-1 has his aftermarket MAFS with the external box pointing to the front.

Mine is 90* out of rotation of this, with the external box, pointing down, so the wires are straight back.

This is with the JLP air ram, air box, so it might be slightly different depending on if it is a stock MAFS, with a different type of FIPK ( if any ). The JLP box only allows for the MAFS to be in 90* rotations, using the wiring box, ckt bd location as the "arrow" as it were.

I think with the wiring box pointed down is how it was stock, that this the reason that I put mine in the way I did. Maybe I am wrong, it has been some time sinse the stock intake and MAFS were on there.

Just a thought, don't know how much it relates to your install.
