Question Cold Air Intake

Do any of you have cold air intakes like the one K&N makes or Airaid? I wanted to know how well they actually work. Plus what about emissions, will they pass?

Sorry about that.... I was just trying to say that there would be plenty of info in another section..... i guess it came out bad..... anyway... before i decided to get blown..... i was going to go with a volant too..... it is the only true cold air intake for our trucks. they cost a bit more, but i think they are better..... check out www.truckperformance.com i think they have them...... again nighthawk sorry about that... let me know if you have any more questions. i will be glad to help.

My opinion....
A true cold air intake would work great. I think the one Crash! is referring to is a true cold air intake.
The FIPK (filter injection performance kit), like the K&N, Airaid and Air Force One, are not true cold air intakes. They work really well when the ambient tempreture is low. If it's hot outside they don't work as well, especially on a supercharged engine.
I don't know too much about the Volant (I believe they house the element?). I have the AF1 and I think that it takes too much air from under the hood when it's hot outside.
If you are in a typically cold enviroment then a FIPK may work ok. I think I need the true cold air intake for the "best" performance.
Just my poinion.

Besides having a one off larger kb manifold fabricated...and 85 mm Accufab tb... the fenderwall was reamed to 5" with 5" tubing all the way to the TB.... 90mm MAF in the middle.
