Question Hypertech error 6d???

I just bought my hypertech and tried going through the first step but it came up with an error of 6d when it tries to go through the first step.... Has anyone experienced this before?? My battery is like 80% good when i look at my gauges and the green light is on when i manually go out to look at it. Does your battery have to be 100% full in order to program the hypertech?? I am kind of stumped and I have to wait until monday if i want an answer from hypertech... I really wouldnt like to wait this long because i wanna beat some ricers! =)

Lightbulb Hypertech

I just put the Hypertech program in my 97 last week. I got a similar error message and called Hypertech. Turned out I had my cell phone charger plugged in and my drivers door open. They told me that anything plugged into the lighter or having any electrical stuff on while programmimng will cause problems on occasion. sounded strange but I shut my door, unplugged my charger and turned off my darned auto lights....It worked...what the heck...it may be worth a try.

Lightbulb P.S. on Hypertech

The instructions tell you to make sure you have a full battery charge. Run your truck for 15 or 20 minutes to charge your battery back up.
Hope some of this helps.

Hmm...

I have a amp hooked into my deck... The amp has a wire that runs to my battery for power instead of my deck... I have tried the whole cigeratte thing and the doors. They are all closed and turned off. I will try unhooking my amp from the battery and then posting the outcome. I really appreciate the helpful tips! Anything else that you could think of, or if you have had this error message before and know the cause I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Thanks again.

Amp Wire

I bet the amp wire is it!!!!!!
I'm no expert, but if my cell phone charger caused a problem with the small draw it takes...that amp wire must really pulling some juice.

As a side issue...when I first programmed mine I had a tank full of regular unleaded.
Drove it almost empty and refilled with Premium...I did notice an additional improvement.

Good luck.

hmm......

Well the Amp thing didnt work.... I am kind of out of ideas... I even went to the extent as to unplug my deck. Still no luck. I bet Hypertech themselves are the only ones that can fix this.... However if there is no power to it and i have done everystep that they suggest I bet im gonna have to send back my hypertech and get a new one..... I surely hope this is not the case!
Thanks for the ideas and quick responses! Defiantly appreciated!
Any other ideas?? I am stumped!

HMMMM

I am looking in my booklet that came with my programer and it does not offer a suggestion one for this.

Things I would go after next would be to make sure you have the right one for your truck, make sure all your connections are secure, maybe unplug all and start over...following all steps tp the money.

Also try to run your truck awhile to recharge your battery all the way before you start.

I feel for you...nothing worse than getting a new toy that won't work right.

They have a web sight at...www.hypertech-inc.com.
Maybe some help can be from there.

Sorry,

Unhappy I will call hypertech.....

Well I still couldnt figure out that error code... No matter what I do I still get the same error code.. I really hope that I do not have to send my Hypertech back. I just got this brand new toy and it is eating at me to play with it! That is like the worst thing... You know you have a totally awesome present but it wont work!! I am going to call Hypertech tomorrow, hopefully they have some kind of magical answer besides sending the hypertech back. I will defiantly let you guys know what the error code means just incase someone ends up getting it with there hypertech later down the road... Which I hope NEVER happens!
Good luck to you all who buy Hypertech and thanks for all the info.
