Ever since the ATI install........

I get nothing but pulled over by the PD..........I have not been pulled over since 1989. I have been able to not get tickets but I think my luck is running out (got screamed on with the last one), they kinda dig the truck. 3 times today and 5 times before this. I have no control/discipline. 2 were for taking off to fast with aggression, and the others basically for passing etc.....nothing crazy speeding but when I jump on it I seem to attract the police. The last one today (I never do this) I was doing at least 90+mph as I passed the friendly P.O. I was getting onto the highway and figured ahhhhhhhI'm gonna nail it....................Just put on the S&B filter from Crash and had to test it..............

I think I'm gonna have to sell the Blower. I am highly considering selling the whole kit and acc. I'm gonna sleep on it but..............

Do I just have ants in my pants at the moment? anyone else have bad luck like me?

I think you should hold off on selling the blower and get yourself a little self-control. More power = More responsibility. It's a fact of life.

Cool

HI!... Don't feel bad, I have 10 points on my licence currently for speeding. Last bad one was for 116km in a 50km zone. My only TB spring broke and I got stuck at WOT for about 5 seconds till I shut her down. I was just cresting a overpass and a cop was sitting at the bottom with his radar gun. It really sucks to get nabbed for speeding when your truck is'nt even on!!!!!!!!!

I have been lucky not to get any tickets yet, my cards are running low though (couple of them kept them)............I do not ripp around in the truck, it's those dart situations for the moment things, bec it's so easy to do. If I didn't have the blower I wouldn't think of doing it. I get to the speedlimit abit quicker then I normally would. When the power is there and ya know it is, I use it for the moment...............I just knew I was going to have an issue with the blower.

With the last pull over, the officer was more pissed that I had a flip out screen then anything. I wasn't watching TV/movie just the screen saver..........."LCD screens are not legal in the front of the view of the driver, rear pass only........" but but but I'm not watching TV or anything "would you like a summons to find out......." probably better then a speeding ticket though. But after all that, and checking out my DL, he asked some ?'s about the truck.......crazy.

SilverX:

I too have been awarded my first ticket in over 25 years for speeding after installing my ATI. I just took off a little too fast from a stop light and I was barely at 1/2 pedal. When the cop ask me if I knew the speed limit I replied, "45", and he said he clocked me at "62". I just said you are probably right. heheheh Hell I never look to see how fast I'm running. I judge by the lines on the road. They moving by I must say. Any way he wrote me up for doing 17 over the limit and now I must go visit the judge next month.

Since then I've have calmed down a little. I just watch where I'm at more before getting on it. I don't race everything in site any more, just wait for them to come to me now.

Don't take it off....Control will come.

Cool

Hi Everyone, I am an old street racer but I have been very lucky to not get a ticket yet. The way things were going, it was only a matter of time before I got a ticket so about a year ago, I started running the 1/4. That helps a lot! I get to race imports, Mustangs, etc and I don't have to worry about a speed limit or radar. I would highly suggest that you guys should go to the track every know and then for a little fix. That was the medicine I needed!

I know! When you've got it you want to flaunt it!
I have managed to avoid getting pulled over, so far. I have always taken off somewhat aggressively. It's actually to preserve the clutch (but not the U-joints!). With the blower I have to be careful not to light up the tires.
It does wear off after a while. I have had the Magnacharger in for almost two months now. I still love to hear the sound but I choose my "battles(?)" carefully. I don't get many that want to race. I also am very consious of the "innocent" drivers around me. I think I'm a good driver but you never can tell when something will go bad.
I think Flats Man said it. The quarter is the place to flaunt it. The season is just beginning up this way so I should be able to see what my truck can do, soon. I only wish there were a track closer!

Just an idea

Radar Detector
I am sorry to hear everyone has been getting hassled so much. It could be worse though. Out here in California, the laws are even tighter. I got a speeding ticket after getting caught in a speed trap. Cost me like $500 after if was all done. I was worried about a speed trap that I pass by on my way to work. So I talked to a guy I worked with who had a radar detector, and all he had to say is: "It pays for itself the first time." Now I know that is a fact. The radar detectors they have these days are pretty good, and I even have one that picks up Laser radar from my beloved California Highway Patrol. Worked great so far, only complaint is that is picks up everything, I mean everything! Including grocery store security systems, etc. That takes some time to get used to, but it is definitely worth the trade-off. I bought mine on ebay for about 1/2 price. I have a Cobra 9200 that I think I paid about $80 for it at the time, which in nothing for you guys who have over $4000 in just s/c alone. They are legal in all fifty states, and probably can help at least one or two people out.

Get a Escort Passport 8500 or Valentine 1 - They may be expensive...but they are the best out there and will end up saving you money in the long run

Silver X,

What the? Might get rid of a supercharger because you are getting pulled over too much because the power is too much of a rush? Man, I .......can't wait to have those kinds of problems in a F-150!!!!!!!!!!!! ooooooooooh yaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments like yours, makes me feel.......less guilty about getting a supercharger!!!!!!!!

I keep thinking about the sheer pleasure of taking a chevy off the line!!!

Having brain farts I guess..........It has to be the attraction of the truck. I get my go fast jollies in a Supra TT, at the track too. Can do 11's all day, and then drive home.

When I have a radar detector, I seem to just go faster, and.......I usually would take the Bell remote radars apart and remote mount the LED's in the cluster........I think I will just try and work on not flexing the foot at the wrong time, I guess.

I also recommend Radar Detectors but. . . .

They are NOT leagal in all fifty states, my state of VIRGINIA outlaws the use of radar dectectors. They also have a device called a 'Radar Detector Detector' which picks up the faint signals transmitted by all/most radar dectectors. (I know, I've been pulled and had my truck searched by one officer while the other explained the technology of the device to me, they didn't find my trusty Valentine One though, good hinding spot. Good news is that while they are using this device, they can't operate their radar gun) I still run with one though as the ticket for the detector is not considered :

1. a Primary Offense . . meaning they can't pull you for just it alone, but don't leave it out in plain view when your next to a cop.

2. a Moving Violation . . meaning no points against your license, a good thing too. just a (simple?) fine like running with a headlight out.

Best advice is to keep her under control at all times but when pulled over, admitt to NOTHING, explain that you checked your speed o meter when you saw him and noted you were within the limit, fight the ticket in court if you can't 'chat' your way out with the cop. Your insurance premium will be your reward.

I am sorry

I stand corrected. I was certain that on the box that I took my Cobra out of, it said legal in all fifty states. In any event, still an essential investment. I have to say that mine has paid for itself many times over, and it is worth every cent I paid for it.
