Best time so far> 13.46 @ 102 Blower only

The scenario: the chip was finally reprogrammed and engine tuned yesterday( Wednesday 4/17) in 95 degree weather. Boost is 10 lbs @ the 2-3 shift...about 1.5 -2 lbs lower because of the heat. 70 mile trip home...and another 70 miles to pick up another car. Frequent on/off key cycles to help computer learn faster. I was going to go to the track today but decided to wait until Friday because of another humid 90+ degree day here in NY. BUT!!! I got the itch about 10 am... so off to my favorite "testing ground". I used my gtech...yep..no real time slip here.(i have several cars contiually tuning and the gtech is usually within .1 - .2 of track times)..but it's a good general indication of what's going on. Temperature was 88. and humidity high.....did 3 runs, with the first one being the best. Launch was @ 1800 rpm....pavement =concrete> 6 foot stripes(those traction bars work wonders on my longbed).... 0-60 in 5.45. 1/4 time was 13.46 @102 kenne bell supercharger only!!! >backed up by a 13.6 and 13.76. 15 minute cooldowns with electric fan on high. I believe on a nice cool non humid night at the track...with 12 lbs boost and 28" x 10" stickies. with a 2000rpm launch..13 flat or high 12s very possible. !!!!! and then there's my NOS bottle hehehe! Those mods sure paid off ! I did not attempt a NOS try as I wanted to do that at the track with 1/4 tank and a couple gallons of 100 octane to work with the flip chip. Side 2 is nitrous programmed.
I must add, that I am at my limit for power between heat and stock engine....I could get more power with 90 mm MAF...and a few other things...but at the risk of blowing the engine. The truck is primarily daily driven and show...but I do race about once a month. Also, engine wear is tough when at 55mph+ I hit WOT to make a 'kill' on another victim. Victims makes not released to protect the innocent! lol Perhaps as a winter project, if the engine lasts, is a worked shortblock...plans are in the making.
I'll post TRACK times soon.

BTBFord, awsome times, looks like the Kenne Bell system with some tuning will give the ATI's and Magnacharger's a new standard to shoot for.

On a side note, are those the factory fog lights that are on without the headlights being on, how did you modify the factory switch or did you rewire to a new switch?

Did you buy your supercharger directly from Kenne Bell or did you go through a vender?

Again, congratulations, I am looking forward to hearing about some cooler weather run times from you.

kpaton, the lights are aftermarket pia's. I hooked them up on a separate relay. I purchased the KB from a vendor in NY...Kennedy's Dynotune a year ago.
There's more to just the blower and tuning to get these new times... i upgraded a lot of lightning mods...larger fuel rails...dual pumps...torque converter that works..and bullet proofed tranny..traction bars, etc..... all components must work together
thank you for your compliments... i too am looking forward to a nice cool spring evening after these last 2 days.

later this evening after coming back from a cruise..i did have some malfunctions...(hesitation..stall)dont know if it was heat, MAF, computer still learning...or what. Will check into it tomorrow.

You guys keep raising the bar. If you keep it up I'll be forced to get a Lightning.
Awsome time. I don't think I will be able to compete with that, unless I had several grand to sink!
It's nice to see what can be done with our F150's!
OK, who's next?

Outstanding times BTB. I have heard similar on the G-Tech, times are very close.

Just for reference, the MM&FF article used a stock 80MM Mustang mass air to 15 or so lbs boost, then upgraded and got another 3 lbs of boost. Even your 5.4 might be OK with the stocker if you aren't going to really crank the boost.

I don't think you will have a problem finding all the boost you want. They got over 18lbs on a 4.6 'Stang and put almost 420 HP to the wheels behind a slushbox.

signmaster, thanks for the comps. There is no doubt that I can get more power...it's the fact of how much can those stock internals take?. I'm definitely going to a 90mm MAF, a Kennedy water cooled injections system...i might go to a smaller pulley for 15lbs...and Bob Kennedy tells me the Blozilla manifold gets more air and about 40 more hp....hmmmmmmm....I'm calling him again this week to see. Obviously, another reprogramming will have to be done...and Bob has the Dynotune there to show the numbers.
I just hope my internals don't go external too soon...though a strenghtened and worked smallblock for a winter project has been discussed with my tuner.

I'm scheduled for some more engine mods on May 13-14..these include a water cooled injection system, 90mm MAF, an even smaller pulley(3 1'8...could go to 3" but that will bring me too close to the KB's limit of 14,400 rpm), a 4 way chip and possibly a larger throttle body. There will be another baseline dyno with current mods, and dynoed after mods put on.

I can't get the blowzilla, it wont fit my application, and the max I can go is 14 lbs boost.

Cool

You are indeed setting the bar very high for us little F150 guys. Outstanding times. I am not even going to post what I was running in the heat in Atlanta but I can tell you that it sucked big time. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing information with us. Right now You da Man!!!!

Smile Even Lower

Cooler temperature (49 degrees) and no humidity got BTB down to 13.39 @ 102.4 with blower only on the gtech. Launch was @ 1600rpm..not much spin...0-60=5.44...cap on..tailgate on..regular Nitto Extreme 555s. Boost got up to 11.5 on the shift ..necksnappin shifts too! estimated 440-450 rear hp. Doing more upgrades and tuning on May 13-14. Current 3.25 pulley to be replaced with 3 1/8" pulley...water cooled injections system..90 m.m MAF.. 3 or 4 way chip...moving IAC inline. Also reaming fenderwell hole to 6" diameter with matching size tube going into the KB air box. goin for 500...and that's NOT with NOS.
My current 100 shot will probably produce about 80 more HP.Torque is in the mid to high 500's.

Yes, the blozilla is real. Meant for the mustang 4.6. It's larger in volume than the KB that I have. Check out the lastest issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords. A great magazine for performance Ford owners.

The Holley Charged special Edition 2001 Durango I spanked tonight should be renamed to ... Slowzilla.....
