I can get the kit for $400
I really want to start out at 35hp like the Nitrous Express kit provides but they list only down to a 55hp shot
I am not sure if this is going to be safe enough on my motor with these damn pistons
of course my brothers mustang has the hypertechnic pistons to and it has lasted 2 years almost on a 150hp shot and about a bottle every two weeks (big street racing scene)
I am thinking about the Zex kit because of its progressiveness and for it going off the bottle pressure to make the shot more exact
it also read throttle position off of your tps instead of the traditional brackets to make sure it comes on at WOT only
I also want their purger kit ($100) to give the great ol' snow effect
and I will get a SUperchip flip chip from Mike
what is everyones thoughts on this?
anyone try the Zex kit on any vehicles? Is it any good?

I too would be interested in some info, I have been looking at a ZEX system for about $450.00. It sounds pretty good.
I would love to put a Supercharger on my 4.6 but i just can't afford $4000.00. I am concerned about blowing my motor up with the nitrous, but I would think that as long as I didn't go over a 100hp shot it wouldn't be any harder on my motor than the supercharger would be. I mean it all kinda does the same thing just a different way of doing it right? Am I correct on this? Anyway I sure hope someone that has experience with this will post to this thread and let us know the scoup.

I would love to buy one of your ATI setups and hope to sometime in the future. Cost is a major factor right now and I am sure that I could resell nitrous system later on when I decide to set up. The ZEX system seemed like the best route to go. As it has all the safety switches so it can not come on unless you are at WOT. What do you think is the best and safest system to go with? I would really like a WET KIT because the way it introduces the fuel but the only ones i have seen have the brackets for the throttle cable

Ok Here is how little I know about the subject, What is the difference between a wet system and a dry system? If one is better or safer why? I intalled and NOS systme on a built 383 stroker motor in a 71 camaro about 8 years ago but that was a N/A car and 98 4.6 is FI so this will be the first FI system that I have installed anything like this on. I really don't want to kill my engine.

you can expect $3-$5 a lb for NOS
nowadays you don't realy have to freeze your bottle, new pumps will get you enough without freezing and freezing it you may have to much pressure when it is warm outside
make sure the shop you go to has a quality fill station that filters their nitrous as it goes into your bottle
wet kit is considered better most of the time because it shoots the fuel in at the same time so you have equal distribution of the 2
a dry kit will not always send the right amount of fuel through your injectors and if the nitrous does not go through your intake evenly you will have lean/rich conditions in different cylinders
lean burns motor/ rich can cause backfires and nitrous backfires are cool to see as long as its not ur car and your not driving (if your lucky it goes through your exhasut or explodes your plastic airfilter cover)
what people consider bad about wet kits though is that on a plastic intake (newer fords have em) the nitrous may puddle up in the back of the intake and when it drips down you will have to much nitrous shot in the motor

and if you have an existing superchip take it out before shooting the nitrous because most superchips are programmed to advance timing and to much timing with nitrous causes big time detonation
run a spark plug 1 or 2 degrees colder and NON Platinum

One of the problems that I had was one place that I went to the fill was not clean and I would have to take apart the screens all the time cause they would get all clogged up with crap and my car would run all messed up when I hit the nitrous. It got to be a real pain and I just stopped using my nitrous. That place whent out of business sometime ago so I will need to find a new place for fills in the Orlando, Area. my cousin has a truck and mustang accessory shop he sells ZEX, NX, NOS and his NOS fill station should be in this week
We know someone else with the NOS fill station and the pump is kind of weak but my cousin ordered a stronger one
hopefully he will give me the NOS at cost and basically he can get any nitrous kit $100 cheaper than advertised in magazines (before he marks it up)
he is also going to try a deal out where if you buy a kit from him and pay him to install it he will give you nitrous at or a few dollars above cost!
I'm starting to save up now and I am now leaning towards the NX kit (wet kit)
and another thing about the dry kit I am worried about is the very slight lag that might happen where it tells your injectors to spray but it lags a little (rare)
I made my own FIPK and it has a breather hole that I am going to put the nozzle in facing the TB of course
another cool thing about NOS is that when it sprays it is really cold so it sends in cold air, and if you disconnect your airbox away from the TB, position it where the nitous shoots in the air, put you hand over your filter and avtivate the nitrous and it damn near wants to suck your hand into the filter because of the vacuum

I just don't know which I should go with. I am so confused. I have a much better idea now as I am leaning on the ZEX system but I just don't know. I wish I could have someone tell me that one of them sucks or something it would be much easier to make up my mind. From what I gather they are both good systems. What does he say is the better system and why? You should talk to him about doing a group sale, I would be in. Thats a good idea about the sale of nitrous. To bad he isn't in Orlando. it seems like ZEX will probally be the easiest for you if you don't know much about it
the built in TPS reader, the fact it is all in one unit, and easy wiring makes me think it is a good one

Yep, Nitrous Works sux. I've seen it tested in magazines on other applications and it didn't do squat.
I believe TNT was established by some dude who used to work at NX. I've heard good about TNT but have not seen any local racers with it.
