Vortech

Anybody got a Vortech on their truck? I'm glad to see they're making one now. I know of them from my 5.0 mustang days. I'm seriously considering supercharging. I like Vortech and would like to see if anyone has one on their truck

I got him hooked on the ATI. They hold more records than any other blower out there. They have been setting the standard since day one. The install and quality of the kit is totaly awsome. Magna chargers are still the best roots style (imho) but for power and speed you cannot go wrong with ATI.

svtoby 150 i have a vortech v2-SQ kit i just took of my 97 f-150 4.6 that i'm selling with a 10lb pulley on it with a free set of 30lb injectors. the kit has 6000 mls on it , with the chip ( which you will need to purchase) it will make about 145hp to your truck. the V2-SQ is the new one that comes in at lower rpms and is the very quiet one you won't hear at idle. by adding incooler kit it will give you even more hp somewhere 40 and 80 hp. the kit comes with charger, all brackets, fmu, hoses, extra fuel pump, belt, and instructions for 2,200.00 if your interested shoot me a e-mail at suns@hargray.com thanks gary sons. ps your warranty is probably out anyway

I couldn't agree more. Any dealer that would void your warranty due to a fitting in the oil pan would certainly give you greif due to the fact there is a blower sitting on the bracket.

For anyone really concerned it wouldn't take rocket science to adapt a fitting through the drain hole.

I have a Vortech on my truck as well, I think it is one of the best blowers out there, Crash is right it will only make up to 23lbs. of boost, but I don't think anyone on the board has an engine that will hold that much anyway, especially if its stock. I run a 10 # pulley, stock exhaust manifolds, stock tranny, and all the other standard mods, and I can run 14.60's all day. If you can get lightningsc's for 2200.00 thats a steal!

MSD Ignit

Flammed - can you tell me about your MSD ignition. Does your motor have the coil on plug technology? If so, how did you integrate the MSD system? Thanks.

Sorry Frank, I have coil packs on my truck, its a 98'. The MSD just intergrates into the wiring going to the packs.

I actually went to the dealership and bought one, they run about 465.00, which sounds a little expensive, but it comes already painted black, and the billet piece (actually plastic) already installed. All you have to do is bolt it on.

True, that won't take a Lightning, but thats what my stage 2 ported heads and new cams from Houston Performance are for! Besides, I will put my trucks looks against any Lightning, there's always gonna be someone faster, but in the looks dept. I can lay the smack down.
