2JZ IS300 Turbo rebuild?

Pulling and examining a 2JZ this weekend, trying to find internal damage and find root cause of poor performance and oil in the cylinders. Boosted IS300, probably burned the rings

Not to hijack the thread, but ring failure on a boosted 2JZ is unlikely. If it has the stock head bolts, it probably lifted the head and popped the gasket. I did that at just 11 PSI. ARP head studs and a GTE MLS head gasket solved that and I ran up to 20 PSI.

Seems like a dealer repair like this on 13 year old car would not be cost
effective

Never seen that before - but I have never messed with the VVTi GE motors. They are much weaker.

While that is a true statement, of your opinion, I shall remind you that:

vehicle is located at a dealership however no one said anything about cost of such repair

I'd be curious as to PSI and what he was using for tuning as well. Stock 330 injectors? Stock head gasket?

My 2JZ-GE SC300 had 220,000 miles on it when I sold it a few months ago and I boosted and tuned it myself.

I will double check with him. I believe 60 mm and pushed 14 psi when it went. Was tuned for like 9 psi when he bought it.

Pulled the engine and trans out last night. I'll upload pics in a bit

I had a free moment at work, and I cut apart his oil filter that we pulled off his car during tear down. Just to see what we might find in it.
