Possible to L-swap a 4.6L V8 F150

Hi, getting ready to buy another '03 NA F150 to feed my L-swap habit-- one truck to drive while I do the swap on my other one. Found a really clean, cool truck, but it is 4.6L rather than 5.4L. Can I swap a 4.6L V8 Triton engine in just the same manner as one does with a 5.4L? I have all the parts for swapping an NA 5.4 L. Is it the same process with a 4.6?

Another way to put it is are 4.6 and 5.4 L engines virtually the same engine with same intake and all, except the displacement?

Thanks,

k9dr

think of the 4.6 and 5.4 like the 302 and 351w...

so since the 4.6 is narrower, the 5.4 intake manifold will not bolt up to it, you can however swap in a 5.4 (direct bolt in) and go from there

5.4 swap

Thanks for feedback....

Well I just happen to have a 5.4L budget-built longblock sitting on a stand ready to go in a truck. Direct bolt-in replacement for 4.6L? No complications?
