Brian's toy!

Well guys, I am a new member here but I spend most of my time just reading and learning. But I have been up to something all the while. And with help from Crash, I now have a pretty damn powerful 4x4 that is now supercharged and I wanted to share.

Let me know what you guys think. Would you call it a sleeper?

And a look at the ProCharger. This one I bought used, then flew Crash out here for the install. I saved quite a bit, and he's good at this stuff. It was originally setup for a blow through MAF, but we converted it back to a draw through. This is also a base kit with only the 2 core IC, but it still makes great power. Had I bought it new, I would have bought the 3-core.

I see that a lot of you guys are running 2.5" piping, Why? I got 3". I am just wondering if 2.5 is better then 3"

Nice install. Expect to be buying new tires soon. I have room for 3 inch piping on my setup. I did not follow Procharger's routing. My winch is in the way of the intercooler. Besides I did not like the pipes hanging below the frame. I routed them between the rad support and the frame.

Thanks for the input and the compliments. This was a used kit, setup for a blow through MAF, and the inlet came from the air filter mounting on the passenger side, over the tubing, and into the blower. We had to scrap it, mainly due to the injectors we had on hand, but fit and finish was not pretty. I remember seeing it posted somewhere, but when I put my hands on it, we overnighted a new draw through inlet for him. Had to be done, but as you can see, it can easily be converted back to a Pro-M blow through MAF. Just remove one section, and we are done! We now switch them all over to blow through cartridge type MAFs when cost effective. There are many benefits, more to come later.

From what I hear, we may be doing fuel system upgrades and tuning soon. But Brian is a busy man, and I don't get to talk to him as much as I would like. More power left on the table, overly rich, safe but wastes gas. As I recall, he was at 10:1, meaning I told him to take the FMU CCW 1/4 turn at a time until we hit 11.5:1 - 11.8:1. Awaiting results from the gauge, but I KNOW this will kick him in the pants EVEN HARDER to go 1.8 points leaner!!!
Thanks guys for all of the compliments! Crash I need to get with you soon on tuning and injectors. I want to do an few more things before we hit the dyno. Looking at 4.10 gears and a slightly larger tire. I have the flexalite e fans just waiting for a chance to install. I am also considering new exhuast. 4x4 Dave not sure on the power level as far as numbers but it was a definite kick in the seat of the pants. I would say right at 300 HP. Maybe a little more.

I'd call it a sleeper! It looks pretty much stock on the outside except for a few touches that you really gotta look to notice.

Put a winch on the front of it. They never suspect a 4x4 with a winch.

I think that's a great one, Derek. I'm always amazed at how much effort you're willing to go through for other people, I really am.

Hello Crash, Just and update. New tune installed and working much better. I was running rich at WOT the first couple of days and today I noticed a significant difference. Apparently the PCM is learning according to JDM and you yourself said it would do this. I am seeing at WOT the air fuel jumps from 14.7 to 12.3 but this is on the bottom end about 2500rmp approx. 2-3lbs of boost and progressively drops at the top of the gear to 11.4-6 9lbs. of boost and at shift air fuel is back to 12.3 and begins the process again. Much better than before it seemed before if you gave it more than half it would peg the air fuel gauge 10.0 and stay there. Can't thank you enough for all of your help and expertise on this. Really appreciate your quick response to my calls. Thanks Again! I have more photos to come really soon just installed new cowl hood and a lightning grill assembly. I have new exhaust to be installed next week as well.

Too bad that you cannot dyno an automatic in 3rd (1:1) starting at 1000 rpm. If you look at the graph of my run it starts at idle in 4th (1:1).
