What Oil are you guys using

What oil is the best for a 5.4 with a supercharger. I have been running the 5-20w synthetic as Ford suggests but I was wondering if I should be running something else?

I always run 5-30 in all supercharged vehicles it's added protection over the 5-20

5w20 Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic. Blackstone lab confirms my engine is wearing better then the average naturally aspirated 5.4 3v. And I drive the **** out of mine.

I can get redline oil at a steep discount through work. So I tried it. Next time back to mobil1, can't argue with twinskrwd's results

I used amsoil 5-20, motorcraft 5-50 and now royal purple 5-20. Notice nothing different with any of them

FYI, All of the oil filters listed for our trucks have the drain back valves.

For kicks I let my oil go 5000 miles this time around. It was in great shape at 4000 last time with no fuel. So this Friday if the weather is right for racing I plan to change my oil (collect a sample), change plugs gapped to .035 this time, 8 new coils (mine are fine but I want to try a fresh set I have on hand, clean the air filter, shed some weight and go racing. Hoping JDM will have my tune ready but it's not looking good.

BTW...Crash....the "S" stands for the oil filter being the shortened series....it was reduced in length back in the day during the mid production of the 04-08's MYs....

This may be true, but some of them (are you listening, Fram?) are garbage.

The MC filter is made by Purolator.
