Vortech and Paxton Guys cheap 10rib eBay pulley swap
I was doing some digging on flee bay and came across this. I don't want the Expense or Inconvenience of going cog or gilmer drive so I figured I would look into a 10rib set up. Wow I found almost every thing for around $500 to go 8 to 10 or even 6 to 10 for some of you guys.
The whole crown jewel of the deal is the crank pulleys. I thought for sure I would spend a small fortune having a custom one made and bam here it is on eBay in both the 7 inch and 7.8 inch universal. I'll be picking one up here in the next month or so.ill let everyone know how this pans out just imagine the possibilities now.
Now a guy on a budget can make a low slip set up. you have the ability to run a larger crankshaft pulley increasing the blower speed but you could also put a smaller blower pulley on without all the belt slip. Either way it's a win-win situation and on the cheap!
Just need to track down 2 grooved idler pulleys and I'm in bussines.
For the Vortech Kit on the 97-03 F150 4.6/5.4 kit all you would need for the 10 rib conversion is
X3 smooth side idler
X2 grooved idler
X1 crank pulley
And what ever size drive pulley u need
Please note the vortech kits only came with Either a 6 or 8 rib crank pulley in 7inch. So I'm sure everyone could see the upside of having both seven and 7.8 available.
