I'm currently looking at possibly buying a 130,000 mi '05 FX4 5.4 SCAB with a Roushcharger and a few other mods. I'm wondering if someone could give me a few tips on what to look for with this kind of setup... I've been checking a few Roush threads and it seems like it's just the standard kit on the truck.

Is there any way to find out the tune/PCM? Anything to look for to make sure the kit is complete, or other upgrades that should be there with the Roush kit? Possibly signs of neglect or abuse?

The truck has some cam phaser noise, and the CEL is on at the moment. I plan on taking it to a local Ford dealer to have it checked out prior to buying, but I'm not sure if they would know much about this kind of setup. Any help is appreciated, and I apologize for being a noob. (=

 

The cel would be my main concern at this point. I would be very cautious. Check the fluids and test drive it. Cam phaser noise isn't unusual. Check to the pulley size on the blower.

Get an estimate on all needed repairs
